Trailer hits all the right beats.. but obviously I'm skeptical.
I think it has great style, distinct from the inimitable original but has the right spirit. Reminds me of Don't Look Now a bit. It has that '70s look fuckin' down.

Interesting.
Hope they made it on a tight budget, I don't think the name's punctured into the culture in the way of a lot of horror films that produced remakes.
That looks really good. Or at least an amazing trailer.

The trailer is even edited in a very 1970s-low budget style, and the score is excellent, too. I'm psyched.

A must.
It's also kinda cool that it's another Italian remaking Suspiria. By the way Eric, cool that you dug 'racer and the jailbird.' It's called Le Fidele where I live, but I have yet to see it. I totally love Bullhead by the same team.

Sooooooo the old man []?
Really happy that this looks entirely to be its own thing, since the original is so specific in its visual and atmospheric personality. And despite my endless love for Argento's film, Luca made my favourite film of last year, so this was never a situation where I was going to not deeply anticipate his next work.
Couldn't that be to its advantage then? Hollywood seems to have the opposite problem when it tries to remake iconic classics. It's a combination of "I already know how this goes" and "How can you possibly top the original" perceptions for wide audiences. (Texas Chainsaw and The Exorcist both come to mind.)Quoting Dead & Messed Up (view post)

So apparently at its VIFF premier, Swinton is reading a message from the old man actor Lutz Ebersdorf at the press conference. It's very long, about how he's a private person choosing not to attend the festival, and he suspects this will be the only film he ever appears in. LOLQuoting Henry Gale (view post)
