He's a legend in v.o. animation, Morris.
Note that I couldn't finish TPM and didn't see the next two.
I just can't get into these new movies mostly because Kylo is not a malevolant adversary. His backstory for one does not justify "turning to the Dark Side" so his character is not very believable to begin with. ..but even if you accept his "dark side", when he reached out his hand to Rey I think she should have taken it! Yeah, he's got issues but Kylo and Rey could have brought peace to the galaxy. I think Kylo is the hero here. He tried to end all the bloodshed and naive Rey was not mature enough to make the right choice. Not to mention the fact that Kylo was softer here than in the first movie, Rey would have been a great influence to him. The two would have ruled benevolently making the rebellion moot. Now, THERE'S a move I would have found interesting! No interest at all in seeing the next one.
What is weird about the porgs is that, outside of Chewbacca, nobody reacted to them one bit. They infested the Millennium Falcon, and nary an annoyance.
:Not a gripe at the movie, but just adding to conversation:
Kylo will rise or sink with the next film. They have to be hinting at something here - otherwise he's just the worst, most ambivalent, lest menacing bad guy ever.
I don't want to go all anti-Porg here but Ezee has a point. It's like they had to be included but none wanted to give them too big a role, which resulted on them being completely irrelevant to the film. And seriously, how many little kids are actually into these movies nowadays? Gravity Falls is where it's at.
Anyone who is anti-porg gets roasted on a spit and fed to Chewbacca.
The severed arm perfectly acquitted itself, because of the simplicity of its wishes and its total lack of doubt.
The good thing is that with all the new guests on the Falcon at the end, they can have a barbecue.Quoting Ezee E (view post)

I saw it again... just as good as the first time. Thank God for Rian Johnson, somebody who actually understands how to build dramatic tension and then pay it off.
I love how it essentially shitcans all the stupidest parts of Jar-Jar Abrams' movie, while simultaneously making TFA seem better than it was. A prime example is Snoke. In TFA, it was just a stupid character. A stupid name that sounds too much like Snape from Harry Potter, a Voldemort knock-off. No idea who he is or what he wants or why he is so powerful—he never does anything particularly interesting that, say, Vader or Palpatine didn't do.
In THIS movie, he's seriously menacing and interesting. The special effects on his face/head are awesome and creepy. He's actually redeemed as a character... until such time as he becomes no longer relevant, lol.
Johnson is seriously a genius for pulling this off, IMO.

K, think I've settled on my updated rankings, which no one will either agree with nor condone:
Revenge of the Sith
The Empire Strikes Back
Attack of the Clones
A New Hope
Return of the Jedi
The Force Awakens
The Phantom Menace
The Last Jedi
Rogue One
Correct.Quoting TGM (view post)
You would rather watch Revenge of the Sith on a rainy day over any of the other films?

Saw it again yesterday, agreed that it resolves a lot of problems with JJ's TV pilot of an opener. And while I don't know that it saves Snoke, it certainly makes him more tolerable by almost immediately cutting to him as a flesh-and-blood character (and I'll cop to it - I would've preferred a man in makeup, but the CGI is pretty amazing).Quoting Milky Joe (view post)

I've just always really enjoyed that one. I have fond memories of it in the theater with my family, and we all liked it so much we ended up seeing it again. And when it came out on DVD, they were always watching it at my dad's house, and anytime it came on I just really found myself getting wrapped up in it all over again. It's just very much a comfort movie for me, and one of those movies where I've often found myself just wanting to go back and revisit over and over again as such. I know it has its silly moments, but I've grown to really find the charm in all of those moments, and just really associate the movie with a lot of positive memories. But even beyond that, I just recall being so underwhelmed by The Phantom Menace (which I've given more chances than probably any other movie to redeem itself for me, but it still really doesn't work at all), but then this one really seemed to be everything that I had hoped for from that movie, and I genuinely liked the way that the story progressed, and the way the universe continued to unravel with this movie.
I know a lot of people hate it, but from day one I've always loved that entry. I had always enjoyed the OT Star Wars movies, but never really found that personal connection to them that so many had. They were just good fun flicks for me for the most part, and I didn't really think much of them beyond that. However, AotC was the first time that Star Wars really started to connect with me, I felt, and this feeling totally continued with RotS, which is the only movie in the series that just about pushed me into legitimate SW fanboy territory, as opposed to just a fan in general of the series. Like, I was legit obsessed with RotS when that first came out, and none of these new movies have come anywhere close to recapturing that wow-factor feeling for me, like I had just watched something truly special.
A few warts but all in all this was great.
I’m halfway convinced people saying it’s worse than the prequels are coordinated trolls.

"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"
"Rick...it's a flamethrower."
It’s certainly the most meta blockbuster I’ve seen in a long time.

AOTC is still the only Star Wars movie I do not like. TPM is at least decent.

And yeah I do not care who Snoke really is, and I find the character to be lame. Hux is at least good for some mocking laughs.
