I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

Whose script am I more interested in? Tarantino's or Dakota Fanning's?

    Quote Quoting Donald Glover
I was actually just reading about Matt Damon and he’s like, ‘There’s a culture of outrage.’ I’m like, ‘Well, they have a reason to be outraged.’ I think it’s a lot of dudes just being scared. They’re like, ‘What if I did something and I didn’t realize it?’ I’m like, ‘Deal with it.’

By the way, if Tarantino were to direct this, we wouldn't see it until 2021. For a franchise movie, I can't see anyone agreeing to that.

Seems a lot of folks are ok with Avatar 2 coming out in 2039. Perhaps Paramount should take it easy and wait it out. Assuming Quentin will do it. I highly doubt it.

And Avatar 2 is more the exception to the rule so my example wasn't rock solid.

I don't believe this will ever happen. QT directing it, that is.

Tarantino has required it to be R rated, and Paramount and Abrams agreed to that condition.
This is nuts. Is Paramount that horny for Tarantino that they're just gonna allow this?

Paramount is just jumping on the R-rated franchise bandwagon. It worked for Deadpool and Logan.

Sony jumped on that train with Venom.

Is this with the same cast as the Abrams flicks? Or is it like, a re-reboot?

Well, at least one cast member won't be the same.

    Oh my god, duh!

My mind went to the sexual harassment scandals. I was trying to think of who was in Star Trek who was involved in a scandal and would need to be recast.

I don't like the sound of an R-rated Trek... and I thought they were moving in a better direction with Beyond...

    I don't know...

Paramount probably was like, "Eh people seemed to like it when we said fuck twice on Discovery. Let's give em 267."

    I picture it like:

AGENT: Want to do the next Star Trek movie?
STEWART: How many goddamn times have I told you know? How much are they offering anyway...
    AGENT: Tarantino is directing.
STEWART: Tarantino. Quentin Tarantino wants to direct a Star Trek movie.
    AGENT: Yes.
STEWART: QUENTIN Tarantino. The director or Pulp Fiction. Wants to direct. A Star Trek Movie.
    AGENT: That's what I said.
STEWART: Do I get to call Spock the N-Word?

Try harder. I've seen about one trillion variations on this in the past 3 days.

I honestly think this is going to end up being something along the lines of:

    Produced by JJ and Tarantino.

    Rated PG-13

Co-written by Tarantino and a room full of studio writers.

    Directed by someone totally safe.
