Red Sox win despite free-agent mistakes

    http://espn.go.com/blog/sweetspot/po...agent-mistakes

See? I'm not the only one who thinks their FA track record is less than stellar.
The only two mistakes you can blame are Drew and Dice-K. The rest can bounce back. It's not fair to proclaim them mistakes after 1 season.

Mike Cameron you can't blame either! Who was to guess he'd get injured like that last year?

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

Here's a reason why the Rockies are sucking...

Three of their starters today have zero homeruns, and another with just two. Nobody can hit it out of Coors Field.

Man, I have Jacoby and Pedroia on my fantasy team.

For the past month, they are #1 and #2 in fantasy baseball with 47 r, 15 HR, 39 RBI, 9 SB, and .379.

    These guys?

    I'll take it.

I donno what happened to the Cubs that resulted in them winning 7 games in a row, but it was goddamn amazing. Too bad it had to end today (I resisted posting about the streak due to obvious fan inspired superstition), and too bad the Cubs couldn't have put together more streaks previously so it would actually mean something. Right now though, I take what I can get.

Yankees/Sox games are brutal to watch. 4+ hours for 9 innings?

Yeh well when I'm paying $170 a ticket, I want them to be 4 hours. No complaints here.

I've stopped watching them. That's way too much of my time to devote to a game in the middle of the season.

The rivalry is played out. It's become boring. They need to brawl more, or something.

I don't even "watch" them any more. They're mostly just on in the background while I play on the computer. Occasionally I turn around if it sounds like something is happening.

The Mets are playing pretty well but also out of it so there's not much to care about with baseball until the postseason. Basically I just really want football to start asap.

With the way 'Pool dished out money during this transfer market, I'd think you'd be pretty excited for the 13th.

If they can get a left back then I'll be excited. They've spent a ton but I think a lot of that is due to the higher price teams pay for English talent.

Henderson was a good get, possibly Adam. I don't think much of Downing at all.

I'm really hoping for a Phillies/Red Sox World Series this time. I think that'd be a great series.

The Phillies nearly have as many home wins as the Baltimore Orioles have wins.

Guess I shouldn't be laughing. Would much rather play them in a 5 game series than Brewers, Cards, Giants, or Dbags.

A five game series against the Giants or Braves might be tougher then a 7 game series against any team afterward.

Oh... what do the Phillies care? Halladay, Lee, and Hamels...

They wouldn't play the Braves in a 5 game.

But it's true, when I catch myself thinking about which teams I don't want them to play, it's nice to know fans from the other team are more scared.

The Giants won't be an easy feat. I'd take the Brewers/Cardinals over them any day.

The Phillies are the best team in the NL and it's not even particularly close. And they're built for postseason play.

If they don't make it to the World Series I'm going to count it as a pretty hilarious embarrassment on their part.

Phillies are OK, but they should've traded for Verlander at the deadline.

If only Ed Wade was the GM of the Tigers, it would have happened. And they still wouldn't have given up Domonic Brown.

They were the best team last year too. Then they got Cody Ross'd and Juan Uribe'd.

I could see them losing twice to both Cain and Lincecum in a short series with Keppinger winning MVP or something absurd. That's how that team rolls.
