Marlins trading pretty much any worthwhile player on their roster to the Blue Jays. Jeff Loria is a scumbag.
Josh Johnson
Jose Reyes
Mark Buerhle
Emil Bonafacio
Probably more. It's just breaking on Twitter.

Oh but they keep Stanton though.
Seriously, Loria should be forced out of there somehow. If attendance slips, he'll claim no fault, especially after getting the new stadium. He'll just say it's a lame duck fanbase unworthy of its own franchise and threaten to move to San Antonio or Las Vegas or something. He's a piece of shit.
Fuck.
The nerve of this guy is just astounding. First, he extorts Miami taxpayers into funding his 900 million dollar stadium. Then he slashes almost 100 million dollars in payroll in less than six months. This guy is the freaking Bernie Madoff of the baseball world. Selig has to intervene which of course means that he'll do nothing.
Their presumed starting roster payroll next year will be $16m, down from $100m in 2012. Pujols probably knew better when they wouldn't give him a no-trade clause.
AL East is gonna be quite the thing.
Nice.
I would not even bother showing up if I was him.
Sure why not?

Yep. This is why I'm glad I'm not a Marlins fan. I never thought being a Cubs fan would better than rooting for another team, so go figure.Quoting Robby P (view post)
I feel sorry for Stanton. He's a beast and deserves better than the situation he's in. Ridiculous.

I would trade the top 10 Phillies prospects for Stanton. Make the call, Rube.

Surely Stanton gets traded off.
And Marlins attendance drops to sub 10K.
Ricky Nolasco is also on the block, which would be another 11.5 million off the books.
Drops? There's no way they get 10K per game. I don't care what they report.Quoting Ezee E (view post)
Maybe it will drop to less than 10K per month.

C'mon Rockies. You have shit for prospects right now.Quoting Robby P (view post)
I know the Marlins have a reputation for putting their team on a firesale. . .but this is ridiculous. I don't even know if that trade could be made on an MLB 2K game.

Loria/Sampson are cheap and game the revenue sharing system with the lowest payroll possible. Stanton wont even get more than the minimum until 2014 so I can't see him getting traded.
Torii Hunter is a great pick-up for the Tigers.
Jackson
Hunter
Cabrera
Fielder
Martinez
is a pretty fine first five.
I know Delmon shows a lack of discipline at the plate throughout the season, and as such his numbers are mediocre, but he's such a force when it matters. I was kind of hoping they'd bring him back. I feel like Hunter can't duplicate his season last year at the plate. Defensive upgrade, sure, but perhaps a downgrade in the lineup. Hope I'm proven wrong.Quoting ThePlashyBubbler (view post)
Sabermetrics point to a regression, but one thing that I learned over the last five years is that he continues to surprise even when I expected him to drop off. Of course he is 37 so a regression is bound to happen sooner rather than later. Still he's a wonderful clubhouse leader. I wish him the best in Detroit.Quoting Kurosawa Fan (view post)
Tomorrow Mike Trout gets jobbed out of the MVP.
Led his team to 3rd place where Cabrera led his to 1st. Easy choice there.Quoting soitgoes... (view post)
Right. Because the divisions are equal strength. Trout led his team to more wins than Cabrera in a much tougher division, but yeah...Quoting Dukefrukem (view post)
