Led his team to 3rd place where Cabrera led his to 1st. Easy choice there.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

Right. Because the divisions are equal strength. Trout led his team to more wins than Cabrera in a much tougher division, but yeah...

Wow, Verlander got absolutely hosed. What a terrible choice.

    Congrats, shaun.

No congrats needed. I've distanced myself from Mets fandom ever since it was apparent that Selig would do whatever he could to keep the Wilpons as owners and that they would never sell.

I like Dickey though. Everyone likes Dickey, which is why the Mets will probably trade him this offseason.

Well, Verlander got jobbed out of the Cy Young today, so consider it a make up award.

I would go with Trout winning MVP, but I don't mind Cabrera winning the award. I'm more surprised that Price won CY Young. I thought Verlander or Weaver would take it. Dickey being the first knuckballer to win Cy Young was pretty sweet. Too bad he plays for the crappy Mets.

ROY's were easy to choose, and Trout won that so its not as if he came away empty handed or anything. This is based on assuming that Cabrera will win MVP. Buster Posey should take home MVP in the NL.

Triple Crown hasn't been done in my lifetime. Cabrera should get it, and it should be acceptable, even with Trout's MVP season.

Yeah, saw that article pop up at the Angels forum I visit. It isn't being received well there.

When's the last time a defending batting champion was signed to a 2 year deal at well below market value? Crazy. I was hoping we would re-sign him but management pretty much guaranteed that wouldn't happen after they turned their backs on him last year.

That puts him at a 10/$136m since it tacks onto his existing contract. He was 4 years from FA and injury prone so I guess it's good value for both parties.

When's the last time a middling player became batting champ in a contract year in which he was also caught taking steroids, creating a fake website post facto, and suspended for a quarter of the year?

Dodgers are supposedly all in on Greinke so he'll get some ridiculous contract north of Sabathia's.

Reds re-signed Broxton for 3 years in what I assume will mean Aroldis Chapman is finally making his move to the starting rotation. That should be cool to see.

I'll only be excited when Bonds and Clemens don't make it on the first ballot. I'm a bit worried about Bonds, but I think it'll work out for the good.

Obviously I'm biased but to exclude the best player since Babe Ruth would render the Hall of Fame meaningless. Not to mention the best pitcher since Walter Johnson.

Not excluding them, just not granting them the honor of first ballot hall of famer. I think both ultimately deserve to be there, though really, rendering it "meaningless" is a tad hyperbolic. No Shoeless Joe, no Pete Rose, no Buck O'Neill... the Hall has many egregious errors. This would just be more of the same in my eyes.

Will be interesting. I think they both (and also should) be first ballot hall of famers. They even were deserving before Steroid problems.

Eh, I'm no fan of Roger Clemens but I'd be just as outraged if he didn't make it, either.
