I would do almost anything to see James Woods fall....perhaps from a 30 story building.Quoting Wryan (view post)
Hollywood being a ring of crime isn't exactly new, but this seems to be the most exposure since the days of when L.A. Confidential took place.
Will sure make a good movie in 2027.
Great comeback opportunity for Spacey.Quoting Ezee E (view post)

At least I can still look up to Fred Rogers. By all accounts, a genuine saint. I would be gutted to find out if he, too, was a POS.
Bob Ross, too.Quoting D_Davis (view post)

It's about time Stranger Things became Netflix's flagship show anyway.

What? That's not what he said. He said he doesn't remember the incident.Quoting megladon8 (view post)
They were talking about it on the radio this morning and they said that he said he didn’t remember the incident, but also a flippant comment about being gay and so it’s not a big deal.Quoting Grouchy (view post)
I’ve been at work all day (still am) so haven’t been reading the articles. Very limited what I can access here.
Is tre radio station full of it?
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"
"Rick...it's a flamethrower."
I never made it past the second episode of Season 1. Didn't realize they were that far into the show.
Here.Quoting megladon8 (view post)
He's being raked basically because the first and second paragraphs are two things that have nothing to do with each other and people see it as him or his PR team doing it on purpose in order to deflect the attention from the first, at the cost of invoking a stereotype that the gay community already worked so hard to dismantle.
Movie Theater DiaryQuoting Donald Glover
That doesn’t read at all the way it was being depicted in the radio.
One of the hosts literally said “yeah it might’ve happened but I’m a gay guy so what can you expect?”
Might write to that station and say how shitty it was that try portrayed it that way.
But yeah, crap timing on Spacey’s part, and comes across a bit dismissive of the whole thing.
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"
"Rick...it's a flamethrower."
Well, it's not exactly a non sequitur either. He has declined to speak about his (obviously gay) sexuality for years, and now a guy is accusing him of something that implies him being homosexual, so he's more or less forced to confirm it.
Yeah but he took an apology and turned it into an opportunity to focus the light on his coming out.
Cut the second paragraph out completely and it reads differently.
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"
"Rick...it's a flamethrower."
Look, it's not like Spacey's been insisting that he's heterosexual this whole time so he has to address some kind of bombshell revelation that's uncovered by the allegation. We all knew he was gay. He knew everybody knew he was gay, he said so himself in that statement. He's just a dude who refused to talk about it even when someone pointedly asked about him being seen going on dates with men, which he had every right to do. So yeah, he could've easily made the same "I was drunk, I don't remember" excuse while maintaining his usual non-acknowledgement of his sexuality. He chose to conflate the two things by talking about them in the same statement.
Movie Theater DiaryQuoting Donald Glover
Sort of the Devin Faraci apology that David Cross also did recently.
The "I don't recall doing this, but I apologize anyway" is such a weird thing to me, but I suppose to call the accuser a liar would be just as bad?
Mindhunt.Quoting Ivan Drago (view post)
I hate the conditional apology, "If I did it, I apologize."
Life pro-tip. Don't put "if" statements in apologies. Apologize or don't.
Coming at someone with "If I did it, I'm sorry" is about as bad as "I'm sorry if you took offense."
