My birthday comes two days early.

After how last season ended, I'm anxious to know what'll happen....and even over what the opening credit sequence will look like.

I need to see this season again to judge how it compares to the first three seasons, but in this season, I love how they set up traditional tropes of tragic backstories only to subvert them into something much more twisted and brutal. The ending of episode 2 was as shocking as the end of episode 11 for me.

Yes, indeed! And I love how much they portray depression, grief and abuse as three evils that are both cyclical and intergenerational in the bluntest and brutal of ways.

Jesus Christ, this season. I feel like the critical success of the show has emboldened them to push every season to be their darkest yet, but really, it's the moments of empathy that makes this show so devastating. Episodes 10 and 11 are a really effective one-two punch of making you expect the worst misanthropy only to wreck you with something humanly sad instead. This is a phenomenal example of how a character growing to become their more honest and mature self is the sadder outcome (see: the ingenious "punchline" to Diane's magic eye metaphor in the finale).

Um, also, I loved the "D'Onofrio has had E'Onofrio" pun.

I was actually just reading about Matt Damon and he’s like, ‘There’s a culture of outrage.’ I’m like, ‘Well, they have a reason to be outraged.’ I think it’s a lot of dudes just being scared. They’re like, ‘What if I did something and I didn’t realize it?’ I’m like, ‘Deal with it.’

I had to pause episode 5 after the Terrence Malick joke because it made me laugh so hard.

Also, as good as this season was, I can't help but be disappointed. . .

Just finished this show in a little under two weeks.

It's one of the best things I've ever seen on my life. The way it sneaks up on you bringing humbling dramatic moments instead of the expected laughs is unlike anything I've ever seen.

I identified with Bojack a lot more than I felt comfortable with.
