And I can't remember if this has actually been set up as well in the show.
I watched the some seasons a little bit more recently (and long after they aired) and I'm pretty sure this was never established at all.

Cool prophecy tho'. I sorta wish they had.

If I remember correctly it looked as if Tormund had bought it in the last scene.

I think they got on the right side of the wall. According to MC Rules, he's not dead yet.

The tendency with this show is that cliffhanger "deaths" don't turn out to be real deaths. Whereas the real deaths are brutal and definitive. That's why I haven't officially counted Tormund yet.

I almost predict an opening with the wall having come down and seeing the remaining soldiers at the Wall figuring out what to do, to announce to the rest of the world, knowing their death is imminent. Maybe some hand-to-hand combat with the Night King for the two.

You don't talk about Beric Dondarrion's final death and not show it. Ditto Tormund, the biggest known Wildling at this point.

No deaths, but a big night for reunions as Jon meets up with Arya, Sam, and Bran. (I think all of them even got hugs.)

Each of these gets you 2 points if you got them right. No bonus points for hugs.

In other news, Yara is rescued and most likely has completed her character arc, parting with Theon and heading back to the Iron Islands.

Tormund did indeed survive the incident at Eastwatch and is alive for now.

And damn, I wish I had been clever enough to include Bran-Jaime in the reunited pool.

Will the Iron Islands be seen again?

My own question of first major death remains open... I don't know that we'll see it next week either.

All quiet on the Northern front last week, so there was no change to this game, although we are bracing for impact next week. In the meantime, here's a review of some of the questions we're still waiting on:

At the end of the final episode, will The Iron Throne still be in use? (In other words, will it remain the seat of power for the ruler of Westeros?)

As of right now, the Iron Throne is still being discussed as the goal. If Daenerys has any intention of melting it down with dragonfire, she hasn't revealed that yet.

At the end of the final episode, will The Night's Watch still be operating?

This is highly doubtful at this point. There's a big gaping hole in the Wall and the enemy has passed the breach. It's possible Jon could vanquish the foe, take control and restore the Night's Watch to its former glory. But it's just as possible that we land on a resolution that leaves them obsolete.

Will the remaining episodes of the series ever return to Meereen?
Will the remaining episodes of the series ever return to Dorne?
Will the remaining episodes of the series ever return to Braavos?

None of these seems very likely at this point, unless there's some sort of celebration around the Known World after the Death Star is destroyed.

Will the series end with a "King in the North"?

This question is at the very center of the current conflict between Jon and Daenerys. It would require some sort of compromise between the two of them and this is not a trait historically associated with Targaryens. If they are able to share power, it would make them unusual for their family. However, maybe that's the point.

Will there be another wedding before the end of the series? (must happen on screen)

This still seems pretty likely with all sorts of possibilities depending on who is still alive: Jon and Daenerys? Arya and Gendry? Even Jaime and Brienne doesn't seem out of the question.

Only four possibilities left in the REUNITED section:

Daenerys Targaryen and Daario Naharis - At this point, it feels like we are done with Daario for good.

Davos Seaworth and Melisandre - This one could happen next week. If you feel like Melisandre still has a part to play in this battle (and why wouldn't she?), then it seems likely that she could show up back at Winterfell. The question is, what is she up to? Is she bringing reinforcements from Asshai? A new spell or magic item?

Arya Stark and Cersei Lannister - I still think this is likely. Cersei was on Arya's list for ages and it feels like we haven't had the capper on Arya's assassin training. She can't peak with Walder Frey, can she?

Arya Stark and Jaqen H'ghar - This would be a long shot at this point, although possibly a little bit more likely than Daario. In my mind, there's still unfinished business here, but the series seems to have moved well past it.

Another question popped into my head. I think that everyone's in agreement that next week is going to see some major (and painful) deaths.

I'm wondering who, if anyone, will be seen again as members of the Army of Dead, and will they need to be put down by people who cared about them when they were alive? eg. Jaime has to put down undead Brienne (or vice versa), or Arya has to put down undead Hot Pie (or vice versa).

Or maybe Arya tries the same "we're all going to die, I want to know what sex is like" line on Hot Pie. (A girl was keeping more than one list.)

    Arya's fuck list, lol.

Reanimated people that were dead prior to Episode III, I don't see happening. I don't see Hodor, Mance, or even live-actor versions of Ned Stark/etc coming back. They'll all be skeleton/wights.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

^ A psychic, a mathematician, and a superfan predict the ending.

(This is actually more fun than it may sound.)

Hahah, the psychic and the fan were just randomly throwing ideas like anyone would but the maths girl calculating the increasing population of wights vs. the humans got to me. Nicely done.

SECTION I: VALAR MORGHULIS (1 pt each)

    • Melisandre
    • Jorah Mormont
    • Theon Greyjoy
    • Eddison Tollett

(Beric Dondarrion and Lyanna Mormont were not included in this challenge.)

How many of Daenerys' dragons will be alive at the end of the series?

If you guessed three, well, you were wrong.

SECTION IV: REUNITED? (2 pts each)

    • Davos Seaworth and Melisandre

You guys made a bet on Dolorous Edd and not Beric Dondarrion? That's odd, specially since ol' Beric's death was the most foreshadowed ever.
