    Why do the other robots refer to him as "bumblee," in English? Do they have bees on Transformer Toyworld?

    Joking aside, whether you think this looks cool or dumb, you have to give it a smidge respect because it took a alien robot that turns into a killer Charger unapologetically back to its roots of a VW Bug and it's still pretty damn appealing. Transformers seems to be like Potter and LoTR and sports movies...you're either into it or you're way fucking not.

    To be sure, I didn't expect it would be this overstuffed already with Transformers and action. I assumed, and possibly hoped it would be more intimate, with glimpses here and there of other bots, only to perhaps conclude with a reveal of something, leading to something bigger for the next movie.

    For a reboot not directed by Michael Bay, perhaps they should have gone with less is more. That they finally look like the 80's versions of the Transformers feels dangerously close to damning with faint praise.
