Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Does StuSmallz have his own mascot, as Cinnamon Toast Crunch does? Can I buy a StuSmallz doll?Quoting megladon8 (view post)

That, plus the fact that they're both cartel Thrillers featuring Josh Brolin (as I already said), so the comparison basically draws itself. Apparently though, that was too many dots for some here to connect.Quoting Skitch (view post)

lol, well shit, I guess now we all know exactly who is reading your posts and who isn't, stu
but i'm glad that little mystery is cleared up
Let's get back to Dune. Namely, here's an image I found of Irish.

Now the only mystery we need to do is solve is who's been dressing up as a ghost to scare people away from the old Amberson place. Gasp... old man Withersbee?!Quoting Irish (view post)

RELP ME, RIRISH! RELP!!!
For discussion's sake I agree. But look at a top 50 or a top 100 of best movies ever made or seen or whatever. It stands to reason that #17 on that list is considered better or more liked than #67. That's not entirely meaningless.Quoting Irish (view post)

Did nothing for me.
I still think this will be a mess.
Did everything for me.
Villeneuve is perfect for this IP.
I like the look of it. I hope we do get a second movie and it doesn't get binned. I'm encouraged by the visuals and the actors and the director's previous two excellent sci-fi works.

I hope they massaged the split into two films well, because based on the book alone I couldn't think of a satisfactory way to leave things off.
Midnight Run (1988) - 9
The Smiling Lieutenant (1931) - 8.5
The Adventures of Robinhood (1938) - 8
Sisters (1973) - 6.5
Shin Godzilla (2016) - 7.5
Also.. the scope of that monster? Yes please.
Trailer looks good. I'm a Chalamet fan but he's a bit underwhelming here, but maybe because to me, rushed writing and age asides, Kyle MacLachlan was so perfect for this character; his presence was so fitting such that he didn't even have to give a good performance, and he did.

It's going to be 2+ hours of cool visuals absolutely ATROCIOUS, sci fi gobbledygook dialogue.
Edit: also, Zendaya is awful.
Double edit: and I see Jason Momoa got hired to play...Jason Momoa. The same character he was in Aquaman. And almost everything else with Jason Momoa

Me, watching the trailer: ...worms... ...worms...
(trailer continues)
worms... worms... worms... worms...

worms worms worms worms worms worms
(worm appears)
WOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRM!!!
The one at the end was significantly smaller than the behemoth that Paul and Gurney were flying over while it swallowed that ship thing.

I don't know how they're going to pull off killing words without it being unintentionally hilarious.
