I was actually just reading about Matt Damon and he’s like, ‘There’s a culture of outrage.’ I’m like, ‘Well, they have a reason to be outraged.’ I think it’s a lot of dudes just being scared. They’re like, ‘What if I did something and I didn’t realize it?’ I’m like, ‘Deal with it.’

From what I can recall, it does bring up the idea of alternate timelines, but no different than anything it has since the very first movie, where simply the very fact that John Connor exists in a future without the Terminator having been sent back is already an alternate timeline in and of itself.
Does that happen? I thought the terminator series had always stuck with "there's only one timeline, you can't change it". Haven't seen Genisys.
I am impatient of all misery in others that is not mad. Thou should'st go mad, blacksmith; say, why dost thou not go mad? How can'st thou endure without being mad? Do the heavens yet hate thee, that thou can'st not go mad?

Nah. That ended when they made T3 and Judgment Day didn't happen in 1997. After that, they pretty much just played fast and loose with the timelines.

Ah. I don't remember a single thing that happens in T3. But at least T1 and T2 were single-timeline, bootstrap deals, weren't they?

Based on my memory, T1 was bootstrap, but T2 ended with the optimistic note that they successfully stopped the 1997 Judgment Day. It's only in T3 (which takes place in 2003) that John Connor found out that they didn't stop Judgment Day, it just "moved" down a few years and was gonna happen in 2000-something.

Oh, I think I always just took for granted that the arm stuck in the cog was going to lead back to the same thing. Learning a lot about terminator today.

Yeah, it pretty much done just because they wanted to make a 3rd movie but since 1997 long past they either had to make a period movie set in the 90s or make a post-apocalyptic movie. They went with neither and opted for a dumb explanation instead.

To be fair, T3 would make sense then since it's not outside of the realm of logic that the events in T2 were a huge setback for Skynet, resulting in the delay of Judgment Day. Furthermore, since Connor exists in the first place, it goes without saying that Judgment Day was gonna happen no matter what. There are those who believe that T3 corrects the whole "nothing is written" stuff from T2 and instead re-positions the franchise towards its inevitable, and only correct path. T2 is still much better than T3 though.

I think Genisys is really the one where all bets are off (read=goes down the crapper) and anything can happen because...of J.J. Abrams Star Trek reboot.

Best bit of continuity was Claire Danes venturing into the crucible of robot holocaust and emerging one movie later as Bryce Dallas Howard.

I remember T3 having some pretty good action sequences but an absolutely awful villain.

The crane chase scene was pretty good, using mostly practical effects, but that's about it.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

Billy Ray is doing some polish on the screenplay.

    So much no care.

I mean like, it looks like the face is photoshopped onto the body.

    And the hair too.

Seriously, what is going on with that hair...
