    Awful covers

I want to start a thread dedicated to awful covers of great songs by shitty bands.

Inspired by this video of Panic! At the Disco performing Radiohead's "Karma Police":

I was actually just reading about Matt Damon and he’s like, ‘There’s a culture of outrage.’ I’m like, ‘Well, they have a reason to be outraged.’ I think it’s a lot of dudes just being scared. They’re like, ‘What if I did something and I didn’t realize it?’ I’m like, ‘Deal with it.’

    Almost painful. Ugh! :frustrated:

The A Perfect Circle covers was pretty bad as well.

that panic at the disco cover is horrendous. this cassettes won't listen must be the worst band ever.

i love the perfect circle imagine cover, i could easily see why people would hate it though.

the limp bizkit behind blue eyes cover is so bad i'll spare you guys of it. likewise with britney's satisfaction and korn's another brick in the wall.

this is one everyone seems to love and i can't stomach.

You sir, deserve rep. That cover is wretched, and I'm sick of people listing it as one of the best.

The "new fab 4" -- British band McFly -- has made a mini-career out of doing covers to great songs, in addition to their original songs. Most of them are pretty awful ("Pinball Wizard" or "Don't Stop Me Now") although in complete fairness they do a cover of "Born to Run" that isn't complete shit. At least.

But they definitely qualify for this thread, for the most part.

This reminds me of the best list ever devised, by our friends at McSweeney's Internet Tendency.

I fucking hate that Guns N Roses cover, but it was 10x worse when Avril Lavigne did it.

She not only did that, but she covered Fuel at the Metallica tribute show as well. That was horrible.

Was that that MTV Icon shit a few years ago? I remember watching that.

Limp Bizkit did a cover too, and it was ridiculously awful. We can probably fill this thread with that event alone.
