I want to start a thread dedicated to awful covers of great songs by shitty bands.

Cassettes Won't Listen cover of Cut Your Hair
that panic at the disco cover is horrendous. this cassettes won't listen must be the worst band ever.
i love the perfect circle imagine cover, i could easily see why people would hate it though.
the limp bizkit behind blue eyes cover is so bad i'll spare you guys of it. likewise with britney's satisfaction and korn's another brick in the wall.
this is one everyone seems to love and i can't stomach.

You sir, deserve rep. That cover is wretched, and I'm sick of people listing it as one of the best.Quoting ledfloyd (view post)

For my money, it doesn't get much worse than Whitney Houston's ham-fisted and pompous-assed slaughter of Dolly Parton's I Will Always Love You.

The "new fab 4" -- British band McFly -- has made a mini-career out of doing covers to great songs, in addition to their original songs. Most of them are pretty awful ("Pinball Wizard" or "Don't Stop Me Now") although in complete fairness they do a cover of "Born to Run" that isn't complete shit. At least.
But they definitely qualify for this thread, for the most part.

Oh and Fall Out Boy did "Beat It."
