Aiming for 2015 release.
What does Paul W.S. Anderson hope to achieve with his final swan song?
Are there any characters from the first couple of movies that he'd like to bring back in this final chapter?

This film damn well better capitalize on that last shot in Retribution. I don't want another fakeout. I want

I want it, damn it.
Damn damn damn.
Sony has set a release date for RESIDENT EVIL 6. September 12, 2014, months earlier than initially planned.
Not related to this movie, but they recently released some effect work done across several movies.. and HOLY SHIT at the 4th video down. I had to watch it 6 or 7 times to finally get it.

Resident Evil Rises much?
Was thinking it had more of a Hunger Games vibe personally.Quoting Skitch (view post)
I'm this close to getting on the side of the "vulgar auteurists" and calling this series some sort of demented idiot masterpiece. None of these movies are worth a damn, but they've gotten so weird and increasingly up their own ass that the series is sorta compelling for its stubborn insistence that this is the right way to do this.
Totally my 1st thought.Quoting TGM (view post)

Just saying, not that it would happen, but if they did a marathon of all 5 RE movies leading into The Final Chapter, I'd totally consider going!
... Unless it was in 3D. Totally wouldn't do it in 3D...
But in any event, while we're all here, how about we rank some more shit:
1. Retribution
2. Afterlife
3. Extinction
4. Resident Evil
5. Apocalypse
Dude the 3d on the 4th one was outstanding.
I didn't hate the 3rd one.
I don't doubt it, that one definitely looked like it was filmed entirely with the intent on showcasing its 3D throughout. I just can't watch anything in 3D. I always find it incredibly distracting, no matter how it's used, and I'm never able to fully enjoy the movie because of it.Quoting Skitch (view post)
This is true, and while a very good tech showcase, it was to the detriment of the film itself. Not that this series merits defending, but as far as the series goes, that entry's 3d was remarkable.Quoting TGM (view post)
Didn't feel like making a new thread, but Sony is planning a six movie reboot.
