Believe me, I wouldn't necessarily be against it, but I'm trying not to become a vindictive bastard myself. These guys are doing good work after all.

There'll be plenty of opportunity left for them to get fired should they proceed on this path. Which I can't imagine they will.

No, he's not fired Skitch.

True to his word, the Manager took the lad aside. The first one from my office, not the second one who posted shit on Facebook. And actually had the temerity to invite me as well.

So it was a put your cards on the table sort of thing, sort it out like men. Turns out he was genuinely surprised and a little troubled (I think) to discover I was miserable because of his antics (some of it sometimes geared towards others too and generally behaving unprofessionally). It's true that I hardly ever showed it, remaining calm and professional in the face of torment, but on the downside bottling shit up inside.

I'm still edgy, he's got some way to go to really persuade me, but feeling much better. I think he's genuine, of course he fears losing his job as well so that counts too.

I think so. He said that he felt bad and that if he had known i was miserable he would have stopped. Dont remember if he said he was actually sorry. He's still sort of dickish but even dicks fear losing their job. which makes him a dick i can tolerate.

Came across this thread and oh lord how bad I felt then. It's been going well, really rather well. I have been made Manager of my department a couple of months ago which means I'm also manager of my erstwhile tormentor.

He's been doing great work, I actually made him my senior because I think he earned it.
