Is this villain someone we've seen in a past movie?

Weird to me that they put out a teaser without even showing Jack Sparrow.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

Depp isn't exactly well-liked these days.

Is that the international title or something? In the US the movie is called PotC: Dead Men Tell No Tales.

I was actually just reading about Matt Damon and he’s like, ‘There’s a culture of outrage.’ I’m like, ‘Well, they have a reason to be outraged.’ I think it’s a lot of dudes just being scared. They’re like, ‘What if I did something and I didn’t realize it?’ I’m like, ‘Deal with it.’

Huh? I'd say his popularity and cult status have been pretty steady throughout the years.

Since the last Pirates movie, he's had bomb after bomb (even the Alice sequel underperformed), and he's now considered a wife beater by the tabloids. Studios definitely don't think he's a box office draw anymore.

Aaaah I'd forgotten all about this. I guess I just considered that, no matter how bad his latest movies were, Depp's name would always bring a broad smile from teenage girls all around the world, same as Woody Allen with octogenarians.

The teenage girls who loved him are now 30+ and don't go to the movies or consume Depp stuff as rabidly anymore. A 15-year-old now doesn't give two shits about him.

Yeah it's only not called Dead Men Tell No Tales in a few countries.

Disney does this all the time, often for reasons I can't understand. John Carter understandably got the added subtitle of "Between Two Worlds" in many countries, The Avengers was Avengers Assemble in the UK due to the old TV series, Tomorrowland got "A World Beyond" added to it (particularly in Europe, where many might've confused it with the annual electronic festival happening the same summer).

But the most confusing might be Zootopia being Zootropolis in so many places, particularly for English-speaking countries needing the original voice cast to re-record every line of dialogue referring to the movie's titular city. Also the translated subtitle "City of Animals" popped up here and there. In China it's apparently only known as "Crazy Animal City"

Zootopia was changed for the same reason as Tomorrowland and Avengers. It's because they already have this in the UK:

That's a shame, since you lose the double meaning when you change the title.

I hadn't considered that, but you're totally right. Zootropolis is a more neutral description of a multicultural society.

Bit of a herky-jerky trailer, but it may have some fun squeezed in there. I'll probably watch it from home sometime.

To be fair, that is probably just a poster that'll be seen in Portugal. The more "official", Disney-attentive North American one, on the other hand, is just a Marvel poster:

Not to mention the jarring perspective issues of the undead pirates hanging out in that same wave close-up.
