This is a beautifully directed film that stars Sonia Braga in the role of her lifetime. She's literally amazing in it, and I wonder how much her status as a sex symbol might have hindered this kind of stardom in the past.
The final scene is a bit on-the-nose. Online research has led me to understand that it's also a thinly concealed metaphor about Temer's illegal rise to power and that has hindered its chances as an Academy Award contender. I took the film at literal value and I got a lot out of it anyways.
