It's fine, really nothing bad about it, though nothing that really makes it stand out, either. Though two things to note:
1. I never realized just how much Margot Robbie looks like Milla Jovovich prior to this movie. o.O
And 2. I find it almost ironic how this is a movie about a man who was raised by apes, yet he still grew up to be more civilized than the damn theater goers who came out to watch this movie.
Seriously, one of the reasons I used to go to the pre-screening showings on Thursday night was because the crowds used to consist of people who were actually there to see the movie, and acted respectable as such. And that's also why I tend to avoid Friday nights, as those tend to attract the more rowdy audiences who are there more to hang out with their friends and don't actually give a shit about the other people there, and will just talk through the whole movie and play on their phones as they please. But more and more lately, it feels like those Friday audiences have discovered the Thursday shows for themselves and have been gradually migrating over, which is really starting to grind my gears. A part of me wonders if it isn't because it's summer time now, and it'll perhaps die back down after the summer's over, but I dunno, and I don't like it at all. -_-
I laughed at this headline:
Movie Review: The Legend of Tarzan Is Like The Terminator, But Set in the Jungle and Terrible

This wasn't bad.
I want to watch this again some time, just to pay close attention to all Samuel L. Jackson's scenes, and see if it still feels like he was green screened into the movie.
This surprised me.
1. First 5 minutes in: Samuel L Jackson is in this? Is there a movie he isn't in?
2. This was shot on a much higher technical scale than Jungle Book
3. I was surprised how entertaining this was
Definitely don't agree with this statement. The animals had an unnatural gloss to them and the humans looked unconvincingly pasted-in to the environments. I felt like the whole movie looked very dated.Quoting Dukefrukem (view post)

I’ve seen the previews for this on like 4 DVDs the last couple of days.
Every time, I ask myself...”who wanted this movie?”
I mean I haven’t seen it, I’m not commenting on its quality.
I’m saying who was his meant for? Who cares about Tarzan in 2016?
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"
"Rick...it's a flamethrower."
This has definitely become a "movie that exists" for me. Not only did I forget the movie existed, I forgot that I had watched it.
