It is so obviously a Ritchie film... but I was amused.
Yeah. I like Ritchie, generally. I like this cast. But Arthur? Really?Quoting Wryan (view post)
This looks like A Knight's Tale crossed with Sherlock Holmes and a lot less fun than either of them.
As far as King Arthur movies go, looks like the first really interesting take. I wish someone would adapt Stephen Lawhead's Pendragon Cycle. Or the Song of Albion. Someone adapt some Lawhead already.
Edit: Unless I'm forgetting a King Arthur movie thats really good? I know Excalibur is beloved but I haven't seen it in decades.
I like that we're seeing the story told with magic and fantasy again.
Feels like the last few versions have been "gritty and realistic" Arthur stories, which makes them sillier.
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"
"Rick...it's a flamethrower."
Although not nearly as big in scope and epicness, I rather enjoyed this.Quoting Skitch (view post)

I hated it the first watch and came around on it a bit upon rewatch. Its okay.Quoting Dukefrukem (view post)
Maybe it was just that this was the Comic-Con trailer I had the lowest expectations for, but that kinda blew me away(??)
It's like the most old-school Ritchie trademark (now shtick-y, commonplace even outside of him) stuff mixed with Fury Road and.. I dunno, not any one particular medieval/epic battle movie, more like every one ever put in a blender. So basically an even wilder, more expensive Your Highness. So I won't be surprised if/when this is only for the me's of the world.
