    Comedy Series:

If you're going to have to have a second network comedy included (other than the well deserving Black-ish), you could at least do better than fucking Modern Family again. It's not even tolerable any more from the pieces I have caught. My wife and I found the similar Life in Piece to be significantly funnier though still not superb in the handful of episodes we caught, and honestly Brooklyn Nine-Nine was pretty great this year. Didn't really care a whole lot for Veep this season either. Individual great moments, but it's kind of worn out its schtick at this point. JLD is still gold though. Haven't watched Transparent or Master of None yet, but Silicon Valley may be among the greatest seasons of a comedy series ever.

    Drama Series:

The Americans is probably the best show on TV, and has been for four years. I am rooting for it to sweep series and lead acting, even though that won't happen.

FX apparently only seems to be allowed a major Emmys presence for one non-limited series at a time (this year it's The Americans! with one bonus nom for Louie Anderson on Baskets), so You're The Worst is sadly likely destined for an Always Sunny sort of legacy of being well-loved but never acknowledged by the Television Academy.

Similarly The CW is usually almost entirely ignored, so the fact that Crazy Ex-Girlfriend got four nominations -- for Outstanding Choreography,
Original Music and Lyrics ("I'm Going on a Date with Josh's Friend!"), Original Main Title Theme Music, Single-Camera Editing For A Comedy Series -- and two of those are still technically for Rachel Bloom isn't a total shut-out. Enough of the voting body probably just hasn't seen it to get it into the main categories, but music people, editors and choreographers know what's up.

The only other nomination the network got was Outstanding Narrator for Jane The Virgin. Yeah.

Jessica Jones only got noms for title music and title sequence... there's a LOT of weird stuff like this, especially once you acknowledge all the Downton Abbey nominations.

Like me, the Emmy voters probably only watch 2-3 shows. I swear it's the same stuff every year that gets nominated, and it takes a breakout season or something truly special to get in. From there on, it'll last the rest of the show's career.

Probably a combination of it having been released a year ago, Netflix pushing other shows much harder for consideration, and Emmy Animation voters seemingly looking down on flash animation as less award-worthy than traditionally animated programming. (South Park and Archer seemingly being the only non-hand-drawn exceptions over the years.)

So true. It's why Frasier and Will & Grace swept every year.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

Same way they were submitted/nominated for hosting the Globes together. They're always on screen together, picked to be host together and credited as such. Submitting themselves separately would be pretty detrimental to their chances.

Can't really fault them for doing it if it's allowed.
