    The Magnificent Seven (2016)

    Quote Quoting Donald Glover
I was actually just reading about Matt Damon and he’s like, ‘There’s a culture of outrage.’ I’m like, ‘Well, they have a reason to be outraged.’ I think it’s a lot of dudes just being scared. They’re like, ‘What if I did something and I didn’t realize it?’ I’m like, ‘Deal with it.’

I'm actually really looking forward to this. Fuqua can put together some good action and has done well with Denzel.

The original isn't any great shakes, but this looks terrible. Mostly because it doesn't have the star power, and that was the key element to making the original as fun as it was.

I'm on the fence about the casting too. +1 for diversity & representation. -1 for historical whitewashes.

Horst Buchholz was premium awful in the original. And also not great in One, Two, Three. But the other actors did make it more fun. Trailer tomorrow.

We've got Steve McQueen, Yul Brenner, Charles Bronson, James Coburn, and Robert Vaughn in the cast, but Horst Buchholz is the guy you name drop?

C'mon, man! You're killing me over here.

Coincidentally, the newest episode of Legends of Tomorrow was called The Magnificent Eight and it had the team traveling back to the old west to team up with Jonah Hex. It was magnificent.

The Expendables is the closest you'll get these days.

Exactly my point! Such a great cast that his sour note stood out all the more for it.

Also, that trailer is exactly what I thought a 2016 Magnificent Seven would look like.

Yeah! But that's my beef—Denzel outclasses everybody in the cast.

With the original you had a weird, serendipitous collision of incredibly charismatic TV actors laying claim to their movie stardom.

The remake has .... Ethan Hawke.

I was into it until "Rising Sun" started up. Then it looked mostly like a YEEHAH! SHITKICKER! movie.

Seems a pretty solid cast to me for the seven to me: Denzel, Pratt, D'Onfrio, Hawke, Lee Byung-hun. I bet it will be fun.

Ethan Hawke and D'Onofrio are the two cast members who make me want to watch it.

They could have tried to make a poster that was a little less of a Tarantino rip-off.
