Yet another classic example of how not to do a biopic. It's a series of "things that happen" in the choppiest fashion possible, just a cliffnotes of various highlights of Hank Williams' career and life, except that in the process, the movie forgoes telling an actual narrative. This is made all the more frustrating considering that the period of time covered in this movie is relatively short when compared to much larger biopics following lives spanning decades, as this movie only takes place over the course of about 5 or so years, so there's really no excuse for this. The performances were fine, the music was good, and some of the cinematography looked pretty, but this was a slow, plodding, choppy mess of a film. Why are we still making biopics in this manner?
