Some of the stuff that goes wrong confused me. The half-empty oxygen tanks and the missing fixed ropes. It seemed like there was a plan for both companies to work together to take care of that stuff but then somehow it doesn't happen. Did I miss something? Is the blame on Gyllenhaal's freewheeling leadership? Did the sherpas just not do that stuff because they didn't like each other? Not well explained.

I dont know about the ropes, but the O was definitely not placed where Rob said to place it. I don't remember who's responsibility that was though.

Yeah, I get that it all went wrong. The movie does a bad job of making sense of who is at fault for the human error, especially since there's so much to go around.
