After much infighting with family and friends past few weeks, I'm pretty proud of Ohio. I mean, Ka-suck sucks too, but losing Ohio is a nice hit for Trump and I value that greatly.

I was actually just reading about Matt Damon and he’s like, ‘There’s a culture of outrage.’ I’m like, ‘Well, they have a reason to be outraged.’ I think it’s a lot of dudes just being scared. They’re like, ‘What if I did something and I didn’t realize it?’ I’m like, ‘Deal with it.’

Well, all right. That's it for the GOP nominee.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

I post that flippantly but I'm actually pretty grossed out.

I'm shocked the WSJ made that mistake. Not so much about Chicago.

Actually, interesting. I wonder if there's a circulation recall, because I just picked up a copy of WSJ and they've replaced the photo with a shot of the screen playing her taped video. Everything else on the frontpage is the same except the main photo.

^ I think it's this, mostly. Plus a little patriarchal bullshit. Plus people still fucking love Bill.

But also, from an editor's point of view: Bill was the lead speaker last night, so a photo of him makes sense and is newsworthy.

Vox has a few more covers: http://www.vox.com/2016/7/27/1229572...rs-front-pages

I think they did that (or went with alternate photos) because a picture of Hillary on a video monitor doesn't have any energy or action or really tell you anything about what went on at the convention. USA Today went this route and it's a terrible picture.

I think the NY Times made the best choice, though -- a headline that reads "Democrats Make Clinton Historic Nominee" over a photo of 3 women with a sign that read "GIRL POWER." That picture has energy and action and ties into the news from the convention floor and what people said.

This might be the best headline of them all, from Quartz:

Hillary Clinton's husband wore a fetching pantsuit to honor her nomination for US president

Here’s what we do know: Clinton's suit was navy blue, and he wore a tonal cobalt tie in a shade similar to the Christian Siriano dress Michelle Obama wore the night before. (Some noted then that the dress matched the stage’s background. Clinton’s tie did too!) The suit had two buttons, a notch lapel, and full-cut trousers that broke substantially over his shiny black dress shoes. One might have even called it a "pantsuit."

Good speech from Hillary. Actually made me want to vote for her, although the threat of Cheeto Jesus makes that relatively easy.

I'm just going to move up north, install a .50cal on the roof of the pole barn, and declare my land a sovereign nation.
