I was actually just reading about Matt Damon and he’s like, ‘There’s a culture of outrage.’ I’m like, ‘Well, they have a reason to be outraged.’ I think it’s a lot of dudes just being scared. They’re like, ‘What if I did something and I didn’t realize it?’ I’m like, ‘Deal with it.’

I love that Paul Giamatti is nominated for 12 Angry Men Inside Amy Schumer.

Better Call Saul for Outstanding Drama? Did they need to pad out the noms or what?

Likewise Kyle Chandler and Jeff Daniels. Jesus. I like both those guys a lot but .. Jesus.

Also, Mark Rylance should win for Wolf Hall ... but he won't. :S

I'm just bummed Offerman not only never won BSA (Comedy) but didn't even get nominated this year.

He'll have to settle for the knowledge that Ron Swanson is one of the great television characters of all time.

The Leftovers getting nothing, not even for Carrie Coon, is outrageous.

Silicon Valley only getting 1 nom is the biggest snub in the history of everything.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

I don't think I have every been more pleased with Emmy nominations.

Like, I knew certain shows I love were sadly gonna miss out anyway (Hannibal, Man Seeking Woman, Broad City, Gravity Falls, Doctor Who, and even Nathan For You, Kroll Show and Comedy Bang! Bang! despite the well-overdue Variety category splitting), but I find very little to object to what's there.

I mean, just look at those Best Comedy nominees! (Modern Family has to be there at this point, but don't ruin this for me. They dropped Big Bang Theory at least!) Will Forte! (Both as writer and actor for the pilot, with Lord & Miller nominated too!) All the Schumer love! Silicon Valley, Jon Hamm and Louis CK everywhere! Kimmy Schmidt! Key & Peele! (Keegan getting best supporting is a huge surprise, and not only because I kinda prefer Jordan's work on it..) And most of all, Parks and Rec back in there for its final season.

What a great collection of nominees that the eventual awards will go to none of. But hey, Samberg's hosting, so at least the show will definitely be worth watching.

How the hell does Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt get nominated for like every category but Ellie Kemper doesn't get nominated?

Oh, wow. That's interesting. If I'm being honest, Kemper and Tituss Burgess are probably the only things I'd really consider Emmy-worthy about that show.

I mean, Jon and Tina hamming it up in the final arc was fun and all, but I have a hard time believing those performances were among the best guest-spots in comedy last year.

Jim Parsons didn't get nominated. Therefore I am happy.

That being said, why are there EIGHT nominees for best supporting actress in a comedy? Seems like overkill to me.

Also, David Oyelowo should win for Nightingale, because he literally is the only good thing about it.

Hmm? Sure, it didn't get any acting noms (Middleditch obviously deserved it, but it's a bit understated compared to a lot of the other big name performances out there, and seriously, every supporting acting performance in that show is worth considering, and they likely cancelled each other out to some degree), but Mike Judge got nominated for Directing (the premiere), and Alec Sulkin for Writing (the finale). Plus BEST COMEDY two years in a row is nothing to scoff at.

Damn. I didn't even notice that either. I saw at least one person peg her as an eventual potential upset to Louis-Dreyfuss's hat-trick too. Oh well, I guess Schumer (or Poehler as a victory lap for Parks) has that opportunity now.

Ben Mendelsohn FTW. Well deserved and I didn't think that show would make a blip on Emmy radar. I'm still bummed The Americans doesn't receive any attention.

    Peele > Key

And Supporting Actor makes no sense when you're in virtually every moment of your show.

    But yay for Keegan anyway.

I think he deserves to win it, even though and partially because of the fact that the show he was in pretty much sucks.

Yeah, it's more of a "best chance at a nomination" strategy, since neither of them would've realistically slotted into the Lead Actor race. All the sketch shows did the supporting role play last yeat with the hope of getting noticed (even Schumer), but Armisen was the only one it worked for.

Absolutely. Key has the undeniable ability to make me laugh, but it's Peele who kills me.
