This better be the precursor to a trailer, dammit.

When's the last time anyone went into the ocean with an inner tube and wasn't 5 years old?

As expected, it looks totally stupid. I'm sure I'll see it. I love the floaty ball thing.

Looks as generic as I assumed it was going to be. That trailer could have been rendered and cut by AI based on all of the other aquatic menace movies ever made.

Oh so despite this thread title I still thought Eli Roth was directing this, but apparently he left it two years ago... I thought he somehow did this and The House With A Clock In Its Walls to both be released this year.

Anyway looks like silly fun and I'm glad the marketing knew to portray ot that way. Something like Rampage looks like no fun to me because of how serious and macho-cool it seems to want to come across.
Last 11 things I really enjoyed:

    Safe (Haynes, 1995)
South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut (Parker, 1999)
    Beastie Boys Story (Jonze, 2020)
    Bad Trip (Sakurai, 2020)
    What's Up Doc? (Bogdanovich, 1972)
    Diva (Beineix, 1981)
    Delicatessen (Caro/Jeunet, 1991)
    The Hunger (Scott, 1983)
    Pineapple Express (Green, 2008)
    Chungking Express (Wong, 1994)

Glad the meg is as huge as in the books after all. This looks surprisingly good from an fx point of view. Statham looks like he's in a Transporter movie. Doesn't look too silly or stupid either but just enough for it to be still scary and Meg's appearances ferocious and powerful.

Does there exist a more vanilla director than John Turtletub? No I'm not going to look up his name to spell it correctly, and I did not mean to malign vanilla.

I loved that movie as a kid. LOVED.
    Someone uploaded it to YouTube.

My God, I never realized how peak '90s this movie is. It opens with an Islamic arms trade, purees Home Alone and Ninja Turtles and Wayne's World in its second act, and all the bright bright colors too, and also the villain is like Pat Riley mated with the evil sensei from Karate Kid Part III. Also, not so much a '90s thing, but "Victor Wong" fighting in all those climactic scenes is about as plausible as Lee Van Cleef kung fu fighting in Master Ninja.

But for real, the villain's line "God, I love being a bad guy" is one of the all-time great bad lines (at 25:05).
