Lots of testosterone and lots of soldiers not acting like soldiers. Not much of a coherent story arch. It's weird that they are trying to expand on the monsters universe in such a limited scope for a second go. The first movie was 90% road trip/romance, and 10% alien stuff. Now it's 90% Middle East war, and 10% alien stuff. We get glimpses of other monster types; but they're just glimpses that exist around a Hurt Locker-ish story. The monsters don't really have an impact on anything that going on. There's a gunfight here, and you can hear the monsters groaning in the background.... Slow-mo is used why? To emphasize war? Like that hasn't been done before?
