    Sense8

    Quote Quoting Donald Glover
I was actually just reading about Matt Damon and he’s like, ‘There’s a culture of outrage.’ I’m like, ‘Well, they have a reason to be outraged.’ I think it’s a lot of dudes just being scared. They’re like, ‘What if I did something and I didn’t realize it?’ I’m like, ‘Deal with it.’

Neat high-concept idea with a lot of potential. Larger canvas for the Wachowskis. Doona Bae. Dooooooonaaaaaa.

Even as someone that likes Jupiter Ascending, I hope this completely redeems them publicly and is what they're most remembered for making this year.

That trailer shows a lot of potential, the premise is endlessly intriguing, it already shows it has a distinctive look. They even got John Toll to shoot episodes!
Last 11 things I really enjoyed:

    Speed Racer (Wachowski/Wachowski, 2008)
    Safe (Haynes, 1995)
South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut (Parker, 1999)
    Beastie Boys Story (Jonze, 2020)
    Bad Trip (Sakurai, 2020)
    What's Up Doc? (Bogdanovich, 1972)
    Diva (Beineix, 1981)
    Delicatessen (Caro/Jeunet, 1991)
    The Hunger (Scott, 1983)
    Pineapple Express (Green, 2008)
    Chungking Express (Wong, 1994)

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

It looks like a show Tim Kring keeps promising he'll make, but always fails. I'm very excited for it, that trailer is just the right amount of intriguing.

They should put that quote in the trailer.

So, did anyone watched it? After finishing all episodes I'm ready for more.

Dialogue is a bit tacky and it takes a few episodes to gel but once it clicks it's a blast, my favorite from the wachoskis since the first Matrix _ haven't watched Cloud Atlas or Jupiter Ascending yet, but seen everything else, I really enjoyed Speed Racer as well

    Watched 5 episodes.

Pretty good so far. Episode 4 is awesome.

The dialog is really, really, really bad. We're talking Vaughan levels of on-the-nose exposition.

There is actually a scene in the first episode where two cops are driving their squad car, and one of them says something like, "Man, I don't know how you go on after what happened to you three years ago." and then the other guy, one of the Sense8, has the opportunity to info dump his character's back story. Funny, because just a few days before watching that episode I read an article about how that exact scenario was one of the all-time worst offenders of bad writing and exposition.

That's amateur fucking shit right there. And the episodes are full of it.

I disliked Naveen Andrews's character because he's basically "Jonas, Exposition Jonas" lol

Sun on the other hand is such a badass, her arc is my favorite. I was literally punching the air when she helps Capheus "Van Damn" deal with that gang... and during most of her scenes for the entire season actually.

Episode 4 was indeed awesome. What is it with shows and films finally clicking with me as soon as they do a musical number?

Come for the Magnolia song, stay for the, er, centerpiece action of the sixth episode.

Although the episode kicks off with someone unironically saying, "Shit just got real."

The self-parody Matrix gunfight with the wires still in the shot in episode 5 is great too.

The season had a bunch of these visually arresting moments, it's quite possibly the show's strongest aspect along with the action. And what about the [

Despite being seriously grossed out, I loved it.

Finished it, finally. Didn't expect to be so emotionally invested in these characters, but the best part of the show is when two characters meet and relate to one another through their similarities and then help each other through their differences. Lito's story is especially great with this. His conversation with Nomi allowing him to own up to his mistake, and then him helping Wolfgang giving him the courage to fix it.

And Doona Bae is too cool for school. That bit in the finale: [
] The Wachowskis really do know how to film someone saying a one-liner for maximum coolness.

I have a friend who said the "SJW nature" of the show was a huge turn off.

Sometimes I wonder if some of the people I know are actually living in the same century that I am.

Finished it. Loved it. Gave a pass to the groan-worthy dialogue.

Given all the press recently on gay rights court decisions, and the fascination w/Caitlyn Jenner, I'd say this show has amazing timing.

And yes, LOVE all the incredible Magnolia moments.

And yes, Doona Bae -- sweet baby Jesus!

So good you know you want to watch it again!

From episode 6, "Demons", played out against the Fatboy Slim song, Demons...

    NSFW!

On episode 5...the dialogue is sooo bad but it's worth watching for the diverse cast alone. A lot of good performances with really awful lines.

I was really moved by this show, with all its flaws.
