Match-Cut Band Consensus - Beastie Boys

    The Rules of the Game:

    How to post selections:

    - Assign a rating to each album based on a scale of 1-10
    - Half points may be used
    - It is not necessary to rank the albums. Instead, please post all lists in chronological order, starting with the earliest album.

For an album to be eligible for the band's overall rating, it must have at least four (4) votes. Otherwise, there isn't a sufficient amount of votes to make the rating as objective or effective as an album that has received twenty (20) votes. If an album is mentioned only once or twice, I will still post that album's average (quite easy if only mentioned once) but I will separate it from the albums that factor into the band's overall rating.

So good for so long. I still think MCA's death is one of the few deaths of a complete stranger that has really affected me on an emotional level. We usually say "tragic" and "RIP" to show respect for someone who achieved fame passing away... but I was truly bummed and down about the finality of it. I spun BB that week like never before.

They kept getting better and better, hitting an absolute peak at Hello Nasty. After that, I think it was just attempts at Hello Nasty.

Some of my favorite songs of all time from them.

I miss MCA all the time. The B-Boys have been a part of my life since I was in 6th grade when Licensed to Ill came out. We got busted at school for doing a lip sync to "Fight for Your Right."

I feel like there are two Beastie Boys, The good Beastie Boys and the Filler Boys, unfortunately the Filler Boys decide to put their songs on about half of every album. The Mix-Up for some reason is all the Filler Boys and that's why it's just terrible. I also just can't stand their first album. But I love some of their individual songs.
