    Isn't Nirvana grunge?

Or did grunge turn into alternative?

Sorry, I really don't know much about the progression of music.

It's weird seeing Kurt Cobain walking upright without slouching.

Heh. I was going to say that his place on the line was a little premature.

This is silly. Firstly, it's alternative rock, not alternative music, and Nirvana had nothing to do with the beginnings of it.

Yeah grunge really didn't lead to alternative rock. Bush can be considered grunge lite. Nickelback and Puddle of Mud are in their own brand of suck.

I donno, but STP was one of the best of the grunge bands.

I'm not sure either, but no matter where they were in line, I'm sure Scott Weiland would skip ahead to buy heroin from Nickelback and end up face down in Puddle of Mudd.

STP is awesome, and Scott Weiland's solo album is pretty cool as well.

I'm mostly disturbed that there is apparently a band out there worse than Nickelback.

I'd say that Nickelback and Creed are worse than Puddle of Mud. I actually think that Creed is the worst rock band of all time.

PS: That second cartoon is funny. And it may explain everything....heh.

Stone Temple Pilots were ten times the band Nirvana ever was, musically. Every ounce of angst grated through Cobain's wailings is countered with a pound of dulcet grind from Weiland. Purple >>> Nevermind.

And for now I think Nirvana is better than STP. I love both bands though. Another grunge act that doesn't seem to get much love is Soundgarden. And while yes in some ways they do sound like Nirvana Alice in Chains really is different and good in their own special way. I'm not forgetting Pearl Jam of course, or the Smashing Pumpkins, a band that had some of the grunge sound. God I love 90s grunge and 90s rock in particular.
