Yes keyin, yes! Love this album. I can understand how its hyperactivity (though compared to Spiderman... it's like he's been taking Ritalin) would drive someone more towards appreciation than outright enjoyment, but I can't get enough of this. I'm actually on my sixth time through since I first heard it about 24 hours ago.
2009 is off to a verypromising start with this and Merriweather. Lots of great stuff on the horizon and I already have the new Swan Lake, Tim Hecker, Lotus Plaza, Junior Boys, Black Dice and Akron/Family albums waiting for me.

Am I a bad person for really liking the new U2 album? It's been on heavy rotation for the last two weeks.

If not, to recap, it's absolutely brilliant. Their 3rd best album, right behind The Unforgettable Fire and The Joshua Tree, and the first 4 songs on the album are as good as anything they've ever done.
It's also really great to see that Eno and Lanois are given full co-writing credits this time - it's like they are now officially the fifth and sixth members of the band.
Lyrically, it's not so great, but then again Bono has never been a proponent of subtlety or nuance. U2 is a band that paints with broad strokes.
I don't care how unhip it makes me - No Line on the Horizon is awesome. I'm on my 21st listen right now (and I just got it on Tuesday), and I imagine this will easily make my top 10 this year.
Eh, I just don't understand the love for it. Average, at best, maybe. But it's an album I'd consider revisiting at some point.

Fantastic . . . although I'd argue it may be slightly better than Joshua Tree (which loses slight momentum halfway thru, but is still, nonetheless, a great album). Agree with the broad strokes - it is not a subtle album, but one that revels in the flourishing sounds of the very beauty in the music. I was also a fan of Viva La Vida, although careful with whom I admitted that too. Sure the lyrics contained in both albums may lack, compared to the likes of Radiohead, for instance. But at least Coldplay and U2 insist on making rousing, beautiful music. I too have listened to No Line at least twenty times already.
Anyone here stoked about new Dylan and new Prince?
Picked up Neko Case's new release Middle Cyclone. So far it's very good, but I don't think she's yet topped Blacklisted. 8/10

I've heard about the new Dylan by word of mouth about eight times now, but I've yet to read anything about it. Do you have a link or anything? Two people described it to me as a collection of b-sides and rarities, but that's what Tell Tale Signs was, and that's the latest album according to his website.

The title track from Richard and Linda Thompson's Shoot Out the Lights is pretty much the best song I should've heard before now.
