The new Nick Cave. Jubilee Street is one of the best songs he has done. Very, very different from Dig!! and his Grinderman side project. Very measured, grey, mournful, but still vibrant with awesome melodies.

    Any good?

Parquet Courts and MBV for me. Mostly MBV though. The new album makes me view the band differently, especially Isn't Anything.

    Lest we ever forget:

I just spent twenty minutes trying to remember this band so I could remember 2008 memories. It was so worth it.
    The Boat People - 9
The Power of the Dog - 7.5
The King of Pigs - 7

I've been listening to Harvey Danger a lot, again. Such a great band. So smart. Some of the best pop-rock I've ever heard. Lyrically unmatched.

Yeah, "Jubilee Street" is amazing. The album's definitely a grower. More subdued and introspective than anything he's done recently, but quietly beautiful and tender.

I could probably listen to nothing but Ebrhard Weber all year, and be completely happy.

Great little minimal set. Parts 2 and 3 are especially great.

No other band should ever be able to call their rhythm section a rhythm section.

    Super-Rep!

That Waldorf on the intro sounds wonderful. Didn't know you had one. Shades of Stefan Betke! Love this new direction your music is taking.
"We eventually managed to find them near Biskupin, where demonstrations of prehistoric farming are organized. These oxen couldn't be transported to anywhere else, so we had to built the entire studio around them. A scene that lasted twenty-something seconds took us a year and a half to prepare."

Thanks, Russ! Yeah, I love the Waldorf. I had one a few years ago, traded it for something else, and then bought another one about a year ago because I missed it so much. One of the most versatile synths I own.

This does kind of have a Betke/Pole vibe doesn't it? I've been working on incorporating a little more dub influence into my stuff.

I'll be playing live this Saturday, and hopefully I'll have a live album to release shortly after.
