Yeah, what Boner said. "Myth" and "Lazuli" are the highlights and the rest are all really good, but it's just not quite as great as Teen Dream. And while Alex has a great voice, the decision to mostly keep Victoria's vocals on the sideline is one I don't quite get.
Love it. I'm pumped.Quoting Derek (view post)
Thanks for the thoughts on Beach House, everyone.

Plead the fifth, Sip wine stiffly
Patiently come up and be spiffy in a jiffy
Gift for the grind, Criminal mind shifty
Swift with the nine through a fifty nine fifty.

can't remember the last time i really loved a sad singer-songwriter thing, but this is one of the best albums i've heard all year
not at all what i expected when i loaded up an album called "put your back n 2 it" by a guy called perfume genius
Okay, who are these guys? This song is uber-catchy, and searches on either Magic Man or Polygons yield no results. :sad:Quoting D_Davis (view post)
Losing is like fertilizer: it stinks for a while, then you get used to it. (Tony, Hibbing)

Their next album will be out on a label.
Thanks for this. The groove and the energy - of both the song and the band - is irresistible.Quoting D_Davis (view post)

Sure thing! Glad you like it. The album is super awesome. When I put them on my top 10 for 2010, I expected more Match-cutters to get into them. They seem like a band a lot of people here would like.
They were number four on my top ten list from 2010. I've since introduced my girlfriend and a friend to them. My friend liked it so much he paid for the (free) album.Quoting D_Davis (view post)
The Red Shoes (Powell, 1948)

I impulse-ordered the Ruin 4/shirt/etc package despite being very poor. Great band.
seeing them in a couple weeks, so i'm hoping to pick it up then
Quoting Derek (view post)Nice. I like both of these quite a bit.Quoting Boner M (view post)
Sure thing. My buddy Christ pointed them out to me. He's really into the new psyche stuff, and I like this one.Quoting Derek (view post)
Quoting Acapelli (view post)Totally has a '90s feel to it, especially the track "Omamori." I really like it.Quoting Boner M (view post)
