How's the album compare to Teenage Dream?

Nothing tops "Hot & Cold", otherwise they've got Perry beat in every department except two.

The songs aren't as memorable, but it's just as consistently engaging sonically.

Yeah, what Boner said. "Myth" and "Lazuli" are the highlights and the rest are all really good, but it's just not quite as great as Teen Dream. And while Alex has a great voice, the decision to mostly keep Victoria's vocals on the sideline is one I don't quite get.

can't remember the last time i really loved a sad singer-songwriter thing, but this is one of the best albums i've heard all year

They were number four on my top ten list from 2010. I've since introduced my girlfriend and a friend to them. My friend liked it so much he paid for the (free) album.

Totally has a '90s feel to it, especially the track "Omamori." I really like it.
