    Future Alien Film Discussion

Neill Blomkamp revealed through a couple of tweets that he was working on an Alien film.

He is no longer working on it, and if the concept art is to be believed, it was to star Sigourney Weaver and Michael Biehn.

While he makes it clear that he is no longer attached, he doesn't say the project is dead - just that his involvement is over.

Being an absolutely rabid fan of the franchise, I am both excited to see further instalments and disappointed to see him leave (my guess is still that he will be joining the upcoming Star Wars flicks).

Thoughts? Anyone you would like to see take over for Blomkamp?

    More pics here? http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansit...news/?a=113017

Very confusing. The twitter account is unverified & Blomkamp later said, "They didn't even know I was working on it ha."

The post from Comic Book Movie also came from one of their "voluntary contributors" so it has all the credibility of a reddit thread.

Anyway, to Meg's question-- Katheryn Bigelow, but circa early 90s.

Doesn't Ridley Scott have all the Alien rights tied up in his Prometheus series? "They didn't even know I was working on it ha," but you had a (younger looking) Sigourney Weaver on-hand for costume tests? Smells like B.S. to me.

It's just a digitally altered photo of Weaver to show the look of the costume on the actor.

It's pretty regular practice now. Much cheaper than fully producing a dozen prototype costumes.

Costume test looks photoshopped to me. Pretty sure it's all fake.

Read what I wrote. It's not an actual costume, it's artwork.

In an interview Blomkamp said he still wants to do this. I wonder if he's talking to Fox now.

Amazing news. Now my most anticipated movie of ever.

I hope he gets to make the movie he's been planning, instead of Fox saying "here is the movie you are going to make for us"

So I wonder what third-world allegory Blomkamp will force into this one.
    Sure why not?

STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI (Rian Johnson) - 9
STRONGER (David Gordon Green) - 6
THE DISASTER ARTIST (James Franco) - 7
THE FLORIDA PROJECT (Sean Baker) - 9
LADY BIRD (Greta Gerwig) - 8

The action in District 9 was just dandy. Elysium was a mess.

I'm not ready to write off his action skills just yet.

Besides I don't really go to an Alien movie looking for action scenes, anyways.

Blomkamp really is the perfect guy to direct this.
