I've listened to at least 30 hours of a podcast about U2, but never listened to a full U2 album.
I've listened to and enjoyed three of their albums, but after three albums, I feel like I get it. Their style gets pretty samey.
Out of this first batch the only two bands I'm interested in/listen to are The Cure and Yeah Yeah Yeahs. The Cure I've listened to very little but liked everything I've heard so I'll definitely check out more of them before their week. YYY's are one of my favorite bands so I've listened to all their stuff.

I am impatient of all misery in others that is not mad. Thou should'st go mad, blacksmith; say, why dost thou not go mad? How can'st thou endure without being mad? Do the heavens yet hate thee, that thou can'st not go mad?

Still not quite sure how to do that maths on these. If someone else could handle that, and then let me know, that'd be cool.
We want an overall total, a total for best album, and one for worst album.
I listed New Order already, I'll add Joy Division to that week.Quoting Melville (view post)

So what I did is I did a vote total on each album (How many people voted) Then did each albums average. Then I took all the averages, added them together then averaged that to get the band's grand total.Quoting D_Davis (view post)
So for Radiohead:
Band Rating: 8 albums - 19 voters: 7.6
Best Album: OK Computer - 18 Voters: 9.19
Worst Album: Pablo Honey - 13 Voters: 5.77
Not that it really matters, but I would probably do a vote total of every score given then divide that by the number of ratings given for all albums.
That way if a band has an album that 4 people have listened to and hated it doesn't have an equal say in the rating as an album that 20 people loved. Would only bump up Radiohead by like .1 based on brief calculations, but could affect others more.
Happy to help with the tallying if you like.
I totally agree. That was something I was thinking about.Quoting Winston* (view post)
If you'd handle my tallying, I'd really appreciate it!
Yeah I did that. That's why your brief calcs are so close. I added all the ratings and the divided by how many voters. So King of Limbs for instance only got 11 voters and so I divided by 11.Quoting Winston* (view post)
I'm just talking about the overall band score. So if you had a band with two albums, one of which got 17 votes and the other which got 4 votes, you would add every individual vote together and then divide by 21.
Ah gotcha.Quoting Winston* (view post)

OK, start listening! LOL.
It always blows my mind just how much music is out there. I mean, I listen to music all the freaking time, and there are well-known performers on our master list that I've never listened to a whole album. Coming up is the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and I've only ever heard 1 song by them.Quoting Spinal (view post)
