You forgot the The in the thread title...
Hader and Wiig are really good in this and make it kind of moving, but it's kind of a facile look at the subject matter. Doesn't help that I saw the Dardenne Brothers' Two Days' One Night the month previous, which is easily the most insightful film about depression I've seen.
This sums it up perfectly.Quoting Winston* (view post)
I wanted to see it just because it's the Dardennes, but now I must see it.Quoting Winston* (view post)
I am impatient of all misery in others that is not mad. Thou should'st go mad, blacksmith; say, why dost thou not go mad? How can'st thou endure without being mad? Do the heavens yet hate thee, that thou can'st not go mad?

Bill Hader gives one of if not the best performance of the year. The movie blows, though.
I liked Hader and Wiig a lot, but yeah.Quoting eternity (view post)
I feel like Wiig brought a lot more comedy than what was intended for her character, which was a good thing. I hope she keeps getting roles.
I enjoyed it for the performances, and I thought the filmmakers successfully established a whimsical charm without emphasizing the whimsy. As exploration of the topic, it's not the most substantive thing you'll find, but an affecting and engrossing experience nonetheless.
