    Hemlock Grove (Season 2)

Much better than Season 1. But then again, it'd have to be, wouldn't it?

Highlights include a waaay over-the-top blood-drenched dream sequence.
"We eventually managed to find them near Biskupin, where demonstrations of prehistoric farming are organized. These oxen couldn't be transported to anywhere else, so we had to built the entire studio around them. A scene that lasted twenty-something seconds took us a year and a half to prepare."

Don't let Season 1's intermittent suckiness keep you from gorging on Season 2's excesses. At times reminiscent of True Blood's trashy soap opera elements, while balancing it with the scientific jibba-jabba of one of Fringe's better seasons, Hemlock Grove has come into its own as a guilty pleasure par excellence. Ten episodes was too short, all lean w/little or no trimmings, tightly focused (more or less), with a season-ending cliffhanger of the old True Blood-ish, "Woah! Daaamn!!" variety.

Loads of fun. And none better than Famke Janssen's climactic about-face.
