that trailer was pulled, is this one the same?

the looks didn't worry me, the style follows Genndy's designs but in CG. I'm more concerned with it actually being a good flick.

    Trailer

The Star Wars fan inside me wants to love this, but this looks completely meh. Shouldn't be surprising considering Lucas wrote the script.

Why oh why didn't they just get Genndy Tartakovsky to do this.

I have no doubt the "script" will be filled with such gems.

Lucas should really just go Miike on the Star Wars universe and get tons of new talent making tons of films, TV seres, etc. Time spent thinking up good ideas and ironing out execution obviously does nothing to help the calibur of the work (i.e. prequels) so maybe this way we'll at least get some gems as a result of prolificness alone.

So, I just saw the trailer on a big screen in HD, and...

Is it bad that I really want to see this now?

I was actually just reading about Matt Damon and he’s like, ‘There’s a culture of outrage.’ I’m like, ‘Well, they have a reason to be outraged.’ I think it’s a lot of dudes just being scared. They’re like, ‘What if I did something and I didn’t realize it?’ I’m like, ‘Deal with it.’

That being said I'll probably eventually see it anyway because I'm a whore for all things sci-fi and fantasy.

Apple has put up the theatrical trailer.

I'll say it again - this doesn't look terrible to me.

Maybe it's just the use of one of my favorite tracks from the original trilogy's scores.

Pretty harmless, but also pretty pointless.

Felt like I was watching the Never Say Never Again of Star Wars movies.
    Out of 4 stars:

    Furious 7: ***
The Tale of Princess Kaguya: ***

I don't know why anyone would pay money to see a TV pilot.

There are some movies that even if I am not expecting goodness from, I'll see them for the sake of cultural literacy or something. I'll probably die without seeing this one.

Based on the trailer for this, I would be shocked if it appeared as a Sci-Fi original. That it is being shown in actual theaters, and that people are paying to see it, is a mystery that rivals the purpose of the universe and existence of God. I purpose an entirely new school of sociology: Starwarsology - why do people continue to support all of the shit having to do with this franchise? Books, games, comics, toys, movies, clothes...why? By studying this phenomenon, we may learn a lot about what makes people tick.

A disturbing number of people believe that all six Star Wars films are great.

And even more disturbing number of people believe that all six Star Wars films are good.

Really? You saw both Meet Dave and Norbit.

I'd question your sanity over someone who wants to see Clone Wars.

To be fair, there are some pretty awesome Star Wars games out there.

    "The Force Unleashed" looks great.
