Question: Did Order 66 have any other priorities other than to remove the Jedi from power and kill them?
I watched a Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order clip on youtube that further explained below, and was wondering if this is explained in any other Jedi cannon story: (it explains a lot on why the soldiers so easily slaughtered all the Jedi and padawans.
1. Order 66, with its bio-chip brain-implants within the Clone Troopers, basically "reset" the Clones to their "factory defaults" when activated. This meant two things...
- a.) Any combat skills they may have gained through field-experience was erased; so accordingly, their skills are reduced to that of their basic training, with perhaps some skills retained from "muscle memory" field-experience. So yes, most of the Clones were reduced to "Stormtrooper-level" accuracy as a result of Order 66. ;<
- b.) The Order 66 activation of the bio-chips essentially LOBOTOMIZED the Clone Troopers, thus why they were able to slaughter their Jedi charges & commanders without question or hesitation; even those Jedi with whom the Clones had formed bonds of camaraderie &/or friendship (and in a few rare cases, lovers &/or family).
2. This is also why almost all remaining Clone Troopers that survived the execution of Order 66 died off shortly (within a few years) after the Great Jedi Purge; the irreversible brain damage caused from the bio-chips' "overriding" (crippling/destroying) the Clones' higher cognitive brain functions. That and the Empire used them up as expendable conquest fodder against any remaining Separtist and Republic hold-outs too.
I had never heard any of this before now.
