Origin stories. They're so hot right now.
Movie Theater DiaryQuoting Donald Glover
Well, considering how much Hanna blended its fairy tale narrative flourishes and grounded whimsicality with rugged and nicely-staged action, this seems like perfect material for a gorgeous Round 2 of that for Wright.

Looks like it could be fun, and of course it's beautiful because Wright. It's at least one I can put firmly in the category of "I won't dread taking my kids to see this." Wish I could say the same for the last Hobbit film.
Ooh, this looks nice! Looking forward to this one.
Meh. Looks grounded enough to be interested. I was hoping it wouldn't feel like Alice in Wonderland meets Into the Woods.
Huh, guys? This looks terrible. Remember when Peter Pan and Captain Hook were friends?
Also, with Exodus and Rooney Mara in this, films seem to be weirdly regressing in terms of casting.
P.J. Hogan's film was good.
I'm just happy that this isn't a "dark and gritty" reimagining, and looks colorful and fun.
Will Pan be the Pan? Probably not.
Sure why not?

This movie is quite literally the Pan.
Damn straight it was. This looks alright so far. Not sure what Hedlund is doing with his accent.Quoting Winston* (view post)
"How is education supposed to make me feel smarter? Besides, every time I learn something new, it pushes some old stuff out of my brain. Remember when I took that home wine-making course and forgot how to drive?"
--Homer
That was a very "Anakin, meet Obi-Wan" beat.

Can you explain this? I don't get what you're saying here.
Tiger Lily was a Native American in the source material, now played by eminent white person Rooney Mara. Similar to how Christian Bale and Joel Edgerton are playing ethnically Arabic characters in the Moses movie.
Aaaahhh yes okay. Sorry. D'uh.
I was thinking Winston was talking about the quality of the actors. Wasn't thinking about the race thing at all.
Exodus is a whole new level though. Reading that cast list is just...kind of creepy.
Yeah, dumb. It looks like it's trying to be Harry Potter, with Hugh Jackman trying to be Johnny Depp.

Pretty much if me and you wrote a screenplay.

They are so going after the Harry Potter crowd. Makes me not want to see it. But I will.
Not sure how many more "The Chosen One" tales I can stand.
