I love racing games.

I think we're really stretching the terms "linear" and "non-linear" here.
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"
"Rick...it's a flamethrower."
So I finished up "Arkham City"'s story and, well I'd be lying if I said I didn't find the story itself disappointing.
It seems like Rocksteady heard peoples' cries about the disappointing, "everything's back to normal" ending of "Arkham Asylum" and tried to evade that...but even in doing so it just left me with a "so what?" feeling.
Of course, yes, the gameplay is where it counts and this has polished, precise, incredibly satisfying mechanics for combat, flight and exploration.
I will definitely be sinking many more hours into the game trying to solve the Riddler's many riddles and complete his challenges.
But seeing as how it's a single-player only game that focuses mainly on a cinematic plot, that part of it was disappointing.
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"
"Rick...it's a flamethrower."
Haven't finished it yet, so don't spoil, but there's hardly any villains left to cover...
Which I find amazing that the game can fit in so many. I finally caught up to where I was at, and searching for Ra's Al Guhl. I also liked that one of the codes was "Metropolis." Wonder if Rocksteady would do a Justice League or Superman game.
Has there ever been a good Superman game?
want. now.Quoting Ezee E (view post)
I know a guy from Rocksteady mentioned in an interview that they'd love to take a stab at making a kick-ass Superman game, the way they tried to make kick-ass Batman games.
I'd love that. 'Cause there's only been one decent Superman game and it was back on the SNES ("The Death and Return of Superman").
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"
"Rick...it's a flamethrower."
I guess the problem with Superman is you run into the possibility of everything simply being too easy for him?
Quoting Ezee E (view post)
Eh, not really a problem.
To be honest this "Superman is so powerful nothing can defeat him!" is similar to the "Iron Man is an alcoholic" definition of his character, in that it comes from a select few interpretations of him and yet has been carried over and understood to be one of his main characteristics by both fans and non-fans alike.
Superman is strong as hell for sure, but this idea that he's indestructible is just not true.
If they want to do something similar to "Arkham Asylum/City" and have Superman taking on hordes of henchman, just give them some armor, or throw a "they're genetically enhanced!" line into the dialogue. Problem solved.
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"
"Rick...it's a flamethrower."
Plus he's weak against magic so you have that to fall back on.

I'd like to see a kickass sandbox X-Men game more than anything.
Sure why not?

Superman #2 was pretty sweet in how he had to rely on TV Cameras and phones to defeat his enemy.
Yeah. The X-Men/Marvel games that have come out have been kinda weak because of reasons that we are currently debating on this thread. You can only go from a to b. Boring!Quoting Watashi (view post)
Why are they not doing this?... like right now?
I think a Flash game could be a lot of fun.

Hmm........ Beat Ra's al Ghul, but now the screen goes to a weird loading acreen, and then black. Can't do anything. I can hit start and go to the pause menu. I can look at stats and stuff, just can't continue the game. If I restart, I have to beat Ra's again, and same thing happens again.
What the heck?
Installed it to my hard drive and it works just fine now.
Still though, annoying glitches!

Beat this game. Enjoyed it. It has the main thing I'm looking for in a video game: to be able to play it with the sound turned down while listening to podcasts or watching comedy on YouTube.Quoting Winston* (view post)
L.A. Noire is much harder to play this way. I have to keep pausing things and turning sound up and down. Annoying!
I finished the main story of Arkham City a couple days ago and now I'm working my way through the side stuff. I've only got like 3 side missions left to go and I'm at around 250 Riddler trophies.

Don't know if I'll have the patience to get all the Riddler trophies...
Just double checked I'm actually at 205/400. I'm actually having more fun doing this stuff and getting Riddler trophies then I did playing the majority of the story stuff. I'm done with all the side missions but the Riddler one obviously and I still have the AR mission.
I just played six hours straight.
