I'm talking about the weapons and ship. They're as automatic as it comes. The only thing that's not automatic, is putting your cursor on the item you want to upgrade. You pretty much unlock upgrades, instead of choosing if you want to increase firepower, recoil, strength, stamina, etc etc.
Exact opposite for me. It's like they ignored their fan base from the first game and made a game specifically for people who didn't bother play the first. That's why I throw it in the same category as Bioshock 2 and Dead Space 2. Both disappointing sequels.
Exploring a barren planet for a crate of stuff wasn't my idea of fun. They made missions on other planets more fun, the supporting characters more interesting, and the final mission actually felt legit.
I will give in to the criticism that too much of the game is trying to recruit your teammates, but I had such a blast doing it that I didn't care.
It's probably one of my favorite X-Box 360 games.
ME2 also plays better. The shooting is more precise and fun, they fixed the broken-ass inventory system, the frame rate is smoother, the levels are more interesting and better designed, and it looks absolutely amazing. The first was already a pretty lackluster RPG experience, and so the decision to dial those scant aspects back even more was the right one.
If you call removing it completely, "fixing".. then sure.
"Dead Space" - like "Darksiders" - never, ever claimed to be original in its ideas.

I mean come on, the lead character's name is Isaac Clarke - that right there lets you know the whole thing is an homage of sorts.
And in the animated movie, the ship is called the O'Bannon.

I want the "Dead Space" developers to make a survival horror story set in the Southern USA, and have a protagonist called Bentley Lansdale.
To travel back and forth between locations on the map, you drive a tractor which Bentley affectionately called "King".

in Aftermath? I haven't seen that yet. Just Downfall.
Chapter 5 of Dead Space was neat and regained my attention a bit more. On to Chapter 6.

To be clear, is this because the game sucked or because you don't like David Milch? Because my natural reaction to hearing David Milch is writing the script is more like, "hey maybe it will actually be worth watching."
