Can you be the Aliens? I hope I hope I hope.

In the last game, I wish you could make the Marines drop their gun when you hit them, because it was too easy to be killed as the alien.

I don't think so. I believe that this game is strictly focusing on the marines, and is really being made for co-op play.

    The Kingdom of Loathing

Does anyone here play this game, or have you heard of it?

    http://www3.kingdomofloathing.com/lo...d7be69a2d72784

It's a web-based RPG that totally reminds of Munchkin, Mertwig's Maze, and Awful Green Things From Outer Space.

    It's really cool.

I made a character this morning.

I just got a useless trinket, which allowed me to get a permit, from the bird on Noob Mountain, to visit the hermit and buy one of these great items:

    seal tooth
    chisel
    jabañero pepper
    petrified noodles
    banjo strings
    hot buttered roll
    wooden figurine
    golden twig
    ketchup
    catsup
    sweet rims
    dingy planks
    volleyball

The currency of the Kingdom of Loathing is meat.

Before you can participate in the chat feature, you have to go on this quest:

As you approach the Altar of Literacy, you see the faint outline of a human figure standing in front of it.

"Hello," says the figure. "I'm the ghost of the English language."

"At this time, you are not allowed to enter the chat. This feature is reserved for those who are members of the Order of the Literate."

"If you wish to gain access to the chat, you must perform a series of tasks in order to prove that you can be trusted with the privileges and responsibilities of the Order."

"First, read the Policies of Loathing."

"Now, type the following sentence into the text box below. Capitalization and punctuation count!"
The community bans people (temporarily) who do not use proper grammar while chatting or posting on the forums.

Wow, that's still around? I played it instead of working three or so years ago at my previous gig, once I discovered that people there didn't really care if I worked or if I didn't. (I subsequently have gotten a job where people actually care if I work or don't, so no more Kingdom of Loathing for me!)

It's a pity that the two titles I'm really looking forward to on the Wii that aren't Super Smash Bros. Melee are ports: Okami and Baroque.

^^^---I pray that the gameplay is as awesome as the screen shots.
That anti-aliasing is definitely too insane, so some slickness will have to go, but yeah, what you said. I hope that they get the slithering nature of these baddies right.

I had a dream about a Japanese RPG that had sneakers and masturbation and beautiful things; when I woke up I wanted to play Lost Odyssey. I think I might do that!

I played like 60, 70 minutes of Final Fantasy VI last night, largely consisting of cut scenes (after meeting up with the Espers in the cave) and missed my one opportunity to save. Then I got my ass handed to me by a shockingly difficult three-piece boss and had to start all over.

    That sucked.

    That sucks! Bummer man.

I started playing the Decepticon side of Transformers...turns out blowing things up, killing, and destroying the everloving shit out of everything is more fun than saving people. Huh. Who knew? Also, did Michael Bay direct this game?! Rubbing up against a building causes it to spontaneously explode with sideways debris and all. Either way, theres only one word for it: AWESOME.

I always knew that the Xbox Live community was retarded, but I guess didn't know just how until I actually started playing games with them. I don't think I'm going to play again, just so I won't have to interact with these worthless pieces of shit anymore. Shame, because the game seemed pretty fun. Ha! What game?

Different games bring out different sort of people, obviously. There's a big difference between Halo 3 and Uno. But assholes are everywhere. I venture out into the wild every now and then, so to speak, but mostly I stick to playing with some of the good folks at RT GVD.
Giving up in 2020. Who cares.

You know you don't need to interact with people, right?

You don't need your headset to be plugged in/turned on. And there really isn't text messaging to speak of...

    You can just play.

    Call of Duty 4.

It's basically filled with the kind of people I left high school to get away from.

I played some games with Clipper Ship Captain and that was fun, but he can't be on all the time!!!

megladon8 I know you don't need to interact with people but you can still hear them even without a microphone, and if you aren't hearing them it feels like part of the "experience" is missing. The part where you get called a faggot by a dude named DesertEagle1938.

I wanna play games with you guys though!!!

Ask DesertEagle what he's compensating for with that waste of a chunk of metal. Tell 'em real men use 1911's!

It got Smash-brothered. It suffered the fate of most 3rd party titles on Nintendo consoles.
