Isn't Diablo hella full of big blocks of text?
    Quote Quoting monolith94 (view post)
    Sit a while, and listen...
Yeah, and like WoW, I don't read those either.

Although it's not bad in Diablo. Usually just one before every major quest, so like 15 throughout the entire game.

There are way more text blocks and more dialog in Sacred 2 and WoW.

So the band Blind Guardian does the music for Sacred 2, and the members of the band are in the game. Each of them has a quest you can take on to help them locate their missing instruments. After all 4 are found, they band gives a concert in the capitol city, and you get to chose one of the legendary instruments to take as a weapon.

That is more awesome than just about anything.

I love the humor and anachronistic nature of this game. Often times, my character will comment on the damage numbers flying off of the enemies' heads, or he will say something like, "I should be leveling up soon!" Also, the mixture of technology and fantasy is very, very cool.

If I can venture a response on Morris's behalf, I think it's because of the mysterious and alien nature of these particular villains. They're supposed to be unrelatable, unsympathetic, and inhuman, so the idea of assuming their roles--stepping into their bodies and their psychologies--seems to undermine what makes Alien and Predator Alien and Predator.
    that makes sense

Oh shit - the Blind Guardian concert is off the hook.

I'm their guest of honor - the concert is a crazy FMV with all kinds of trolls, goblins, kobolds, skeletons and other monsters moshing around while the band plays.

    Best game ever?

So in addition to the awesome concert, Blind Guardian also gave me a weapon called the Blind Guardian - it's a two-handed electric guitar axe imbued with fire. It's worth like $100,000 and does a ton of damage.

    Yeah - best game ever.

And when you ever hit people with the Blind Guardian, it makes guitar feedback noises.

Didn't Devil May Cry already do this? Your game is lame, also you are lame.

So I took a break from S2 to post here, and my character damned me to hell and called me a deserting cur for leaving him stranded.

    He's hella pissed.

    Better get back...

That's sort of it. But also, I keep thinking of the movies (the good ones) and just how incredibly scary and intense they are. I want that experience from a game and I find it diluted when I assume control of the Predator and Alien.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

I would really like to see a documentary, or read a good book on the (un)making of 3D Realms and Duke Nukem Forever. I think it would be fascinating. Especially if said movie or book came with a disc holding all of the scrapped ideas and prototypes.

Last month I read The Masters of Doom, the biography on John Romero and John Carmack, and I loved it. It's so awesome to read about these two dudes, and how influential their ideas were.

Is anyone getting Sims 3? I kind of enjoyed Sims 2, until my last computer was dying and I deleted it to save some space.

The Sims is a game I like to watch other people play, but I find it boring to play myself. I loved watching my wife play it - she'd get all into it, and we'd make up funny stories.

The Ninja Gaiden games are HARD AS HELL. Like, ridiculously so. Don't attack the one guy, get the whole team responsible for making the game.

The sims is a game I enjoy for a few hours immensely, and then the enjoyment drops off enormously.

I've never played a Sim game, from "Sim City" right up to "The Sims".
