Hah, I killed all the slavers at the Lincoln Memorial site today.

Where is Paradise Falls? I haven't discovered that location yet. Is there a quest for killing all the slavers there?

I imagine there is a quest, but I just sort of wandered over there and decided to kill them.

Paradise Falls is not too far from Arefu. It's a deserted shopping mall, I think. There's a huge statue of a boy holding an ice cream cone, kind of reminded me of the Donut Boy from "The Simpsons".
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"

    "Rick...it's a flamethrower."

So, despite all the things that can be done in Fallout 3, do you still wind up having the same ending?

just in case it hasn't been mentioned yet, Littlebigplanet is awesome.
Hasn't that gotten delayed because of religious protestors?

It was only delayed a few days, I think.

Actually, Sony delayed it because they thought they might get some protest from certain Muslim groups. But actually a prominent Muslim group spoke up in defense of the game saying that fundamentalist Muslims need to stop being so sensitive. It never got to the protest stage.

The devs have said there are over 200 different endings. How different these are from one another I do not know.

I sort of accidentally beat Fallout 3 today. Twice. I had no idea I was so far along in the story, and then it ended.

There's one crucial decision you can make at the end that changes the ending, but it's only about 20 seconds of different dialogue. I'm sure if I went back and played as an asshole instead of a good guy the ending would have been very different. They structure it in a way that makes it pretty much endlessly adaptable.

Anyway, fun game. I'm probably play through it again in a few months time. Explore a little more. Be a total dick to people.
Wishful thinking, perhaps; but that is just another possible definition of the featherless biped.

The world needs more people like this. People to speak up and basically say "stop your whining".

Gears of War 2 is out? Didn't realize. I'm really out of the loop when it comes to video-games, these days.

I beat the first one in about two days... made a wise choice and rented it instead of buying it. Is the sequel just as short as the original?

Heh. I made Walter Sobchak and Jesus Miis for Wii Bowling. It makes the game twice as much fun.

Plus, we finally see Sobchak throw a few (which he never actually does in the flick).

Hmm, I think a NPC (Walter, the scrap metal guy) in Megaton has disappeared from my Fallout 3 game. I can't find him anymore. I didn't kill him either.

It seems that a lot of people have had NPC's disappear from there games. Sometimes even important quest related NPC's were just gone. I wonder if Bethesda will fix this in a patch later on.

Also, a pretty cool Tomb Raider: Underworld tv-spot.

Just think of it as a bonus!

Some thoughts on Hammer, from Fable 2:

She does talk too much, but she is an interesting character type, one that we don't find in gaming much. I've found that her rejection of religion is both interesting and troublesome. Because she so easily rejects a walk of peace, and she seems to lust after violence, I would question her original intent in joining the monastic order, and thus her constant blathering about how religion does nothing rings with the false accusations from a misplaced spirit.

I can safely say that there aren't too many games that've made me think about stuff like that, and that is cool.

The new GFW podcast, now known as LAN Party Weekly, is really good. I almost don't miss Jeff Green.

And just a word of warning to meg, and others who a) are looking forward to Mirror's Edge, and b) don't like short games. I've heard that the game is extremely short - shorter even than CoD:4's single player campaign. On the recent LPW episode, they said that even by stretching out the game it can easily be finished in 5 hours.

This has actually piqued my interest a bit - if I can ever get a grasp on the gameplay. It seems like the kind of game that should be short, and so I am probably more apt to check it out at some point.

I'm so behind on games. I just picked up Guitar Hero World Tour for PS3 and Gears of War 2.

Now it looks like I may need Mirror's Edge as well. Looks fun.

    Fallout 3
    Mirror's Edge
    Fable 2
    Dead Space
    Left 4 Dead

Too many games to handle. I still own none of those.

My attempt to procure a copy of the Tales of Symphonia sequel, with a street date of today, has come to naught. I preordered from DeepDiscount, who are usually very good about getting it to you on or around the release date, but their rep today told me that their systems said it was pushed back to November 28th, which is corroborated nowhere. Then Amazon can't get me a copy till Monday with even one day shipping. And the only store that stocks video games within reasonable proximity rarely gets them on the first week (and they didn't get them today).

    Going with Amazon for now.

Fuck. There goes my weekend plans.

Glad to hear some good feedback. I still hope it's a longer game than it's predecessor, though.

"Call of Duty: World at War" looks pretty awesome. The multiplayer beta was definitely very good.

I hope the next one is non-WWII based. That's just been done to death.

I'd like to see like, for example, "Call of Duty: Vietnam". Or hell, even go as far back as "Call of Duty: The Napoleonic Wars".
