Last night an insane thing happened in Sekiro. Instead of even more late game farming (getting enough exp for all the skill points is the most time consuming trophy BY FAR), I decided to take a crack at the final boss and push into NG+++. Twelve minutes later, after using all my most precious healing items, I somehow managed to beat the boss on the first try!

But the really crazy part is my controller died just before I land the final super deathblow. You can't see the controller pop-up, but at about 10:40 there's a pause right before I finally take him down--that's the moment I jumped up screaming from the couch and fumbled wildly for another controller to "finish the fight." If that controller died just five seconds earlier...

I can't even figure out how to rename that youtube video haha. My recent quest to get the platinum in Sekiro notwithstanding, I don't usually play anything with enough consistency to stream.

Maybe something I'd try also, given that I'm currently doing well on Bloodborne which I hadn't thought was possible five years ago. Though I'm stuck, no idea where to go but there's a few Doors I know but that are closed.

@stalker: And yeah Moments like that still make me love videogames. At this Point, I'm 44, it's still inconceivable that there's gonna come a time when it's all over.

Yeah, I'm wondering if the discussion isnt about two different images? The image madman is talking about I think the top image is much better than bottom. The bottom image looks like it's being run on a PC that isnt up to spec at all.

Which version of the NPC is more attractive/lifelike (in a single image mind you, maybe we're being catfished) may or may not be the same question as which version of the game looks better. It probably IS the same question, so I'm going to side with Meg here.

It's not, I'm pretty sure that top image is in fact a PC with high settings; I recognize it from the press materials that have been circulating around (only the PC version was used for marketing, was available for review, etc.). People have been taking screenshots of the game running on base consoles once they get to parts of the game that were shown pre-release, in order to see how they compare, and the results are obviously quite poor (the PS4/XB1 versions are a dumpster fire).

If somebody presented meg's image as a PS5 vs. PS4 comparison they were being purposefully misleading, because as you point out, the next-gen versions of the game don't exist yet. Running Cyberpunk 2077 on a PS5 just means you're running the game in backwards compatibility mode. PS5 bc mode will increase the framerate (which is unlocked, so it can be pushed up to 60 instead of 30) and allow the game to hit its max resolution threshold more often (the game employs a dynamic range on consoles), but otherwise in terms of graphics (world detail and character models and etc.), it remains identical to the PS4 Pro version of the game.

There's a lot of digital foundry videos out now for anybody who wants a more technical breakdown of the game, it's pretty fascinating stuff.



They do largely seem to run fine in bc mode on the next-gen consoles, for what's it worth (bug ridden and janky though they remain).

What you're doing by zooming in on the photos is helping my argument of how much better my screenshot resolution is.

They are not exact frames of the same scene. I just happened to have taken a screenshot around that time. I could have taken it in mid sentence.
