I didn't know any of that either, and it's still in my top 5 games of all time.
One you get into the meat of playing the game, you'll forget all that stuff.
It's Hideo freakin' Kojima, man. Just go with it. And like Davis said, once the real game starts it doesn't really matter.Quoting megladon8 (view post)

I want that game so bad.
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"

Picked up Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 and CoD: Ghosts, both new, $2 ea. Thoughts on these games?
COD sucks. So many better things to consume your time.
The CoD games, despite apparently sucking according to lots of folks, are actually garnering not bad reviews every year. That said, Ghosts was perhaps one of the least inspired ones, MW3 a bit better. I had trouble making it through Infinite Warfare, so there is some diminishing returns stuff going on there. For that price, you'll probably have some fun, otherwise you would not have bought them.
That being said, if there are any other AAA games you haven't yet touched, I wouldn't opt for MW3 and Ghosts.

Is there a release date yet?Quoting Dukefrukem (view post)
Unless something changes soon I’m going to have to say MGS V is not for me.

Why not? Just curious.

Play for 5 minutes, 10 minutes of cut scenes where I have no clue what’s going on.Quoting Milky Joe (view post)
I’m finding the movie credits before and after every mission really annoying.
Don’t much like the control scheme either.
And janky as hell. When I went to the oil rig base and was taught about knocking dudes out and recruiting them by strapping weather balloons to them, the very first one I did it to glitched out. Nothing ever picked him up, he just floated 6 feet above the ground and never disappeared so I couldn’t move on to the next one. Had to restart.
I also had a truck I was driving in the first mission just spaz out and flip over, and I couldn’t get out of it.

"Rick...it's a flamethrower."
Did you install the day 1 patch?
I assume so? It has downloaded and installed everything that’s out there for updates (playing on PS4).
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"
"Rick...it's a flamethrower."
Huh, I never had any issues like that. Not even close.
I don't remember any "play for 5 minutes watch 10 minute cutscenes" MGSIV style stuff in MGSV, which is why I liked it so much better. Unless you count the tapes, which are optional. It was all gameplay for me.

I've only gotten through the hospital, and it seemed like very long cut scenes to me too.
Right after the first mission when you rescue Miller, it’s like 8 minutes of cut scenes. Plus the stupid movie credits stuff.Quoting Milky Joe (view post)

Janky? It's the best playing game I've ever played.
No joke.
I've never played another game that felt as good to play as MGSV. The controls are perfect. The kind of precision afforded to the player is astonishing. I did things in that game that are usually relegated to cut scenes in lesser games. Every second of the game is near perfection. I've never felt like more of a bad ass than I did in MGSV. The playground at your disposal is complex and practically borderless.
The credits before each mission are great, especially when you start getting the custom soundtracks.
Also, after the first hour or so, you rarely see long cut scenes. In total, I'd say the game is about 90% playing, 10% watching.
Something must be wrong with your copy or something.
I don't know what to tell you!
It’s downloaded off PSN so it’s not anything wrong with my copy.
This game just isn’t for me.
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"

I also love riding my horse and randomly taking cover on it’s side while not pressing that button.

In over 100 hours, I didn't see a single glitch in the game. Not saying they're not there, all games have glitches, but I never saw it break while I was playing, and I did some flat-out insane stuff.
At least play until D-Dog grows up. Getting D-Dog and having him mature into your companion might be my favorite thing in all of video games.
I’ll try. Not finding much reason to even want to go back to it at this point.Quoting D_Davis (view post)
