I'm going to play the shit out of Final Fantasy when that comes out.
I'm starting to feel like I'm becoming a console player now instead of an avid PC gamer like I was before I got a PS3....

As you guys saw, I had a bit of a scare today with my 360.
I downloaded the demo for "Star Wars: The Force Unleashed". As soon as I entered the demo's Start menu, the system froze.
I had to turn it off manually, and when I turned it back on I got the Red Ring of Death.
I have been getting this all day, and had to contact Microsoft and arrange to have the system returned for repair.
However, just now it miraculously turned on again and I was able to get back to my "GAMES" screen, and promptly deleted the demo for "Star Wars".
All is well, now, and I have no more problems.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is it possible that the game demo had something to do with the system crashing?
Should I still return my system for inspection/repair?

Well I haven't gone online with it yet, so I don't think "Castle Crashers" is the problem.
I made a post on the GameSpot forums about this, and another guy said the exact same thing happened to him when he tried the "Star Wars" demo.

I don't know if any of you are aware of or are into the whole 'new games journalism' thing (basically an alternative, more personal, gonzo-esque method of reviewing the game as a whole experience rather than your average IGN review which clinically breaks down the game's different technical aspects), but ActionButton.net has been publishing its Manifesto of the Top 25 games ever, and they just posted numbers 4, 3, and 2 today.
It's a rather interesting read, definitely not your usual 'Best Games Ever' list. The review for #2 is just totally brilliant. If you can't handle all the asides and indulgences and length of most of the reviews, you should at least read that one, because overall I think it's one of the more important (whatever that means) pieces of videogame journalism ever written.
I just wonder what they can possibly put ahead of #2.
The severed arm perfectly acquitted itself, because of the simplicity of its wishes and its total lack of doubt.

How do you do it?
"Pacifier" is easily the hardest one for me. I can barely get past 1 million.

I don't know. The only reason I lost that game was because my thumb slipped off the stick. I could have easily kept going.Quoting megladon8 (view post)
Just concentrate on breaking the gates - don't let too many pile up in one place. Break the ones in the corners fast, and leave some open in the middle for big combos.

No, I'm pretty sure you're just some sort of mutant.
"Evolved" is where I shine, though even there I can't beat the high scores you guys (you, Saya, iosos) have.
I received the box to return my 360 today, and I'm dropping it off at the Purolator store tomorrow. I really hope I don't have to wait long for it.

Yeah, I'm not even going to try beating you guys' scores anymore.
I'm just going to keep trying to best myself.

Yes! I love that series. I hope they make one for the 360/PS3. It's one of the better console shooters.
There's one level in, I think #2, that is lifting straight out of Blade Runner.

Release tomorrow in the US, next week in Europe. Apart from the odd character designs, this looks like a blast. I'll await the reviews though.

Tiger Woods '09 is a hole in one, and then some. I don't know if it's new for this version (the last version I played was 06), but whoever thought up the new way of opening and closing the face of your clubs, and the new way to control fades & draws, that person eliminated my major gripe about the franchise. If you're reading this and you're that guy's boss, give the fella nice fat raise, please? Man, I'm going to be spending much time with this game.
And Civilization Revolution is a great game too, despite the fact that I just got my ass kicked by Saladin and his band of merry Arabs. He was, however, gracious enough to offer me a truce after his archers whiped out my entire Samurai Army.

How does it compare with the PC versions?Quoting bac0n (view post)
Compared to the last version of Civ that I played (Civ 1), the graphics are one hell of a lot better, and there's a whole helluva lot more to do.Quoting DSNT (view post)
All silliness aside, what I have read is that the game has sacrificed some of the super depth that the PC versions have had, so as to make it more accessible on a console. So, if you enjoy the micromanagement aspect of Civ, you might be disappointed. But like I said, the last version I played of Civ is more than 15 years old, so compared to that, this is pretty deep.

For those who find "Guitar Hero" just a litte too offensive.

New Mirror's Edge trailer showing some more alternate routes. Promising, but framerate doesn't appear silky smooth, and I wish the game was even faster. Still don't care about the combat aspects. Nevertheless, finding the perfect route without so much as blinking could be a terrific experience. Zen and all that.
