Wow, Geometry Wars 2 is incredible. I downloaded it on thursday, but really started playing it yesterday and it's hard to quit. It looks amazing in HD and all the modes are tons of fun. I definitely want to beat some of your high scores though! :P
I retired from the game. I found that it was making me way too mad. When a game makes me mad, it's time to stop.Quoting Saya (view post)
GameSpot's tagline for "Dead Space" is pretty (unintentionally) funny...
"Dead Space is a horror-themed survival-horror game set in space."
Who'da thunk?
EDIT: And "Legendary" looks awesome.
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"
"Rick...it's a flamethrower."
Finished "Condemned" tonight.
The ending was...strange. The last stage is practically an action game, after all the stuff before it being more horror based. Honestly, the brutal clubbing of bad guys was the least of the game for me - the atmosphere, great story-telling and voicework, and chilling imagery were more satisfying than the fighting. So to have the last level be comprised entirely of bludgeoning giant deformed rednecks, it was a weird tonal shift.
I was also left with more questions than answers. What exactly does Ethan Thomas have to do with all this? The end seems to play him up as some key player with a history, but we never really learn enough to fully understand it.
A great game overall, and I'm looking forward to #2.

I know what you mean. I almost threw my controller across the room last night because of Pacifism mode. :PQuoting Daniel Davis (view post)
A lot of your questions will be answered in the second game. The two most important things you need to remember, Ethan has superhuman muscle and bone density, and something mysterious in his esophagus and larynx. The esophagus aspect is more described in the 2nd game.Quoting megladon8 (view post)
Seems a T rating isnt quite what it used to be

Playing Half Life for the first time. It's pretty sweet.
I've been playing around with the Wii version of Okami.
I'm up to the point where you learn the brush technique for the bombs. So far, I'm not as impressed as I thought I'd be.
"Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe" is going to be awesome.
You'll all see.
You'll all beg for my forgiveness.

There will be fatalities it says. The DC Heroes get "brutalities" though since they don't kill their opponent.
Game's not rated yet. Ed Boon expected a T rating before they put fatalities back in.Quoting Dukefrukem (view post)

It still holds up. I wish Valve would release a Source version of Half Life, especially on the 360. That would rock.Quoting Winston* (view post)
Well technically there is Half-Life Source... better water affects, bodies can move after you kill them, better physics and when you throw grenades it doesn't look like you're throwing balloons.Quoting Daniel Davis (view post)

WILL BE EPIC IF EVER RELEASED

I've run into a brick wall in n+, and that brick wall is a board called upstream.
If you are the designer of this board and if you are reading this post, i owe you a punch in the mouth.

Bummer, I thought that was the new Batman game. Still hilarious, though.
Couple new Fable 2 screenshots from GC Leipzig. It looks great and it's coming out very soon as well. :P

Also, Halo Wars screenshots:

Oh yeah and new screenshots and artwork from Infinite Undiscovery. I heard that this is a relatively short JRPG, around 20/25 hours. Good news for me, because I don't have time for 40+ hour games anymore.

This article by IGN is definitely worth a read if you're interested in Fable II.
Fable II: 10 Things You Absolutely Have to Know
I hear ya...
For me, a perfect game is around 10 hours. Anything longer and the chances of it holding my interest and getting finished grow smaller.
CoD4, Portal, and the HL2 episodes are the perfect length for me.
Fable 2 looks awesome - I hope it is not too long. I liked that the first game was short.
Why bummer? The Arkham Asylum game isn't going to look that crappy.Quoting Skitch (view post)

I'm still of the opinion that a game can be much too short.
"Halo 3"'s campaign was criminally under-length. There was so much more I wanted to see and do, and suddenly...over.

A friend of mine and I sat down Sunday with a copy of Too Human because we were told by afriend (I know, I know) that it had co-op multiplayer. We watched the opening cinematics to discover that there is no local multiplayer. Which brings up two points:
1) Fine, they want to move more copies of their game, whatever. But with the advent of higher resolutions and faster processors, why is it NOW that splitscreen or even single-screen local multiplayer is disappearing from games?
2) The opening cinematic for Too Human suuuucks. Horrendous use of slow motion and bad sound mix to boot. Can't comment on the game proper, though. Could still be good. But we pulled it out when we realized it wouldn't let us play together.
