I will definitely be getting the Crysis Remastered Trilogy this fall.

    Back to RE2...

I just came across Mr. X for the first time.

I have 3 bullets, there are zombies everywhere in the station, and now he's running around.

    So, 2 questions...

1.) Am I screwed? Should I start over?

2.) Is there really any point in killing the zombies? They take anywhere from 3 to 5 headshots, and I don't think I've had a single one that didn't come back and take another 3-5 shots.

Am I just wasting ammo taking them on?

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

Going to give it a try shortly!

Put about 3 hours into Mortal Kombat X tonight.

    Really enjoying it.

I want to look up some lists of what people consider the best and worst MK characters of all time, and see how my favorites line up.
    X or 11?

11 is much better than X

    X.

I wanted to play it before I got to 11, for the story stuff.

Had a fair bit of driving to do today so I queued up some gaming podcasts (GiantBomb and GiantBeast).

In one of them one of the older GB members named Dan was talking about some stuff that just...made me face palm at such a high level. And he insists that he is not trolling, he was sincere in these thoughts and was ADAMENT about them. Here are a few highlights...

    - cooked meat becomes raw again when put in the fridge. It needs to be fully recooked, not just reheated.

    - butter is its own thing completely separate from milk and dairy. It is not a dairy product nor is it derived from milk. It is a completely separate product.

    - he does not believe that all things man has made come from naturally occurring Earth materials that have been manipulated, processed or manufactured. He believes many things such as high tech products are 100% man made.

I don't understand how this level of pig headed ignorance / stupidity can be real.

To be clear, he's not a dick about it. When I say "pig headed", I just mean that he is 100% set in believing what he believes and would not listen to any evidence to the contrary.

He seems like a super nice guy and was a fun presence on the casts...but just...how?

Well...he's simply wrong about the first two points. There's no fluidity of an opinion there to discuss.

Yes, agreed, but he is so adament that he is NOT wrong and that's what drives me nuts.

Though after the last few years of politics in North America, I guess I shouldn't be surprised anymore by people refusing to admit when they're blatantly wrong.

Maybe he was referring to the idea that butter can be left refrigerated and unrefrigerated and since dairy products all need to be refrigerated, it somehow makes butter not a dairy product?

    Dunno. Just thinking out loud.

Was this guy trying to say that if, for example, you grilled a burger, then put it in the fridge, that the maillard reaction would somehow reverse, the chemical compositions would somehow revert to the precooked state, and the burger would become raw again?

Brad, Vinny and Alex (who left GiantBomb beginning of May) have started a new game podcast project called Nextlander!

    Woo-hoo! Such great news!

Stuck on the fight in RE2 with William, at the bottom of the labs.

I'm entering the fight with 10 bullets, and at half health.

Thinking about moving on to a different game, because I don't have it in me to restart the game right now to get back to where I am but in better shape.

Beat RE2! Fantastic game with some annoying difficulty spikes. Will absolutely 100% be replaying this multiple times, so keeping it installed.

    Started Returnal tonight. Wow.

Audio visual is insanely good. And the controller stuff with the DualSense is amazing. You can feel water drops hitting you as you run in the rain. And the adaptive triggers and how they work with aiming and alt fire...super cool.

The game feels about as close to a Prometheus video game as you could get.

Got RE2 a couple years ago when RedBox was basically giving away games. I should play it.
